According to the bookies the current betting for the next Premiership managerial departure is:

    Steve Bruce - 7/2
    Harry Redknapp - 4/1
    Paul Lambert - 11/2

Lambert should be way ahead of Bruce.

They're not scoring goals either although their defence is usually solid if Vlaar is playing. I think he's out for a while now. You'd expect Benteke to be scoring but he isn't.

I looked at the league table the other day and when I saw Villas GF I thought it was a printing error.

I know we're not the most free scoring team ever, but 11 goals is ridiculous.

Suspect if Bruce were 'to do one' it would be his choice.

Lambert is on paper thin ice.

Didn't lambert sign a 4 year contract in the summer ? As randy learner is trying to sell the club and wont be keen on paying lambert off

He'll be even less keen on getting relegated.

Can't see SB doing one, unless he decides himself.

I'm half expecting SB to go in the summer - probably to Newcastle.

The tone of the interview he did a couple of weeks back when asked about the Newcastle job seemed to me as he was staying
to get us out of the relegation places, stay up and then his work here was done.

Newcastle should be aiming higher than him. They should follow Southampton's lead and get someone doing well in one of the mid-tier European leagues.

I wonder if Benitez could initiate a merry-go-round of sorts in the summer? He is 99% certain to leave Napoli in the summer when his contract ends, as he's deeply unpopular with the fans for his defensive style and 1 striker approach. If Liverpool dont improve could he go back there, where he was loved for his defensive style and most EPL teams play with 1 striker. Would Rodgers therefore suit Newcastle?

Football has a habit of doing this.
Making managerial appointments purely based on other team's success.

    It doesn't work.

It's hardly a new idea picking up a manager who did well at a smaller club, almost every successful managerial appointment will fall into this category. The only difference is I'm suggesting they pick one from the continent. And this precise approach is working bloody brilliantly for Roma at the minute, they were ****ing ****e before Garcia took over and despite selling £50m worth of players he's made them unrecognisable.

What I mean is that other clubs will see the success Koeman is having and then adopt a policy of "Well it works for Southampton so it must work for us, let's appoint a foreign manager".

Apart from the very few top managers who seem to have success at all the clubs they go to, a lot of management is down to luck anyway.

I had a tenner on him at that price at the weekend. Villa are atrocious and their 'performance' on saturday was atrocious. We've seen better in League One.

Signing Joe Cole was ridiculous. He hasnt played well since he was at Chelsea and they might as well have signed Tore Andre Flo.

The murmurs of "bloody hell, Joe Cole? I remember him scoring for England here" that filtered throughout the ground when his name was read out was quite funny. He was absolutely useless.
