Today's Singapore grand prix marks the first chance Sebastian Vettel has to wrap up the WDC. There are a number of scenarios that can play out for Vettel to win, or let the title continue for another day. Vettel has to finish at least 13 points ahead of Alonso And 8 points ahead of Webber and Button There are a number of scenarios in which Vettel can clinch his second title including if he wins and Alonso finishes outside the top three -- and both Button and Webber fail to grab second spot. So will Vettel win his 2nd title today, or will we have to wait longer ? Thanks for reading
Its all about the start. Webber and Button are traditional slow starters. If that happens today vettel could clinch the title in a Vettel-Hamilton-Button podium.
Yeah I agree, he really needs Lewis to help, funnily enough, win it! However if Vettel is way out front on the last lap and Hamilton is second in front of Button will the team tell Lewis to let Jenson into 2nd place to keep the championship open, or will they give in and let Seb win the title???
Dont think they'll bother. As button said, Even if Vettel doesn't start the rest of the season the chances of anyone overhauling him are very low.
I think he'll win it at Japan. He should win the race today but the only realistic way he could win the title is for Hamilton to be 2nd and Alonso off the podium. It's possible but both are unlikely.
What will be especially annoying is if he wins the race (which, to be quite honest, would not surprise me) but not the title. Anyone else reckon Button might give him a good run for his money? Look back to Monaco for instance.
Yeah, I'd take a bet on Button giving Vettel a crack. He's really getting into his prime and he should have won a few more races if not for some bad luck.
The Red Bull's race pace is meant to be immense, plus their tyre wear is meant to be decent as well so all I can see is Vettel driving off again.
I think it's great that Seb will very likely clinch the WDC at Japan. After what happend with the earthquake/tsunami, the people deserve some big worldwide event taking place to lift their spirits up a bit.
It's fitting for Vettel to win it in Japan too. As i said before, Japan 2007 was the race he made people take notice of him.
