The scariest factor I see in our fight for survival is our terrible goal difference compared to our relegation rivals. That spate of games where we were shipping in 3 goals every time could be a massive factor if we are level on points with any other team in the bottom three, and you only have to realise that a win vs Derby combined with other teams losing is so critical for our future. Might be there on saturday for my usual annual visit but it depends on so many other factors during my short stay in England prior to my flight back to Canada on April 4th. Keeping my fingers crossed on all fronts.
30-0 will be better banksy. although that will never happen but i don't think our goal difference will effect us and our points will do the job
Last years the "gasheads" ended up with a minus 34 Goal difference at level 3,let's hope we do better than that in the Championship and stay up..
The lack of commitment on behalf of management to improve the squad where, and when, it was required is the biggest culprit, and the goal difference is just the end result. How come we supporters could see the deficiencies but no-one at Ashton Gate had the desire to fix them? Very sad. The only possible way out of this mess with total certainty is to win every game, but that won't happen - will it?
No we haven't, but some people seem to pine for 'the good old days' this has been coming for a few seasons now.
Mike, 10 points will probably be enough - I always said that the 3 fixtures that we HAVE to win were Portsmouth, Forest and Coventry. We failed to beat Pompey but seeing what they did to Brum a few days later made me feel a bit better about that particular result but all else aside, we MUST win these 2 As for the other bit, its more money but worth it if we stay up....
As I said on another thread, if 10 points will see us safe then we have to take maximum home points from the Derby, Coventry and Barnsley games and nick a point or more away somewhere.
