Melbourne: clutch issues, cars not got enough fuel Malaysia: pitstops china: gearbox and pitstop Bahrain: horrendous pit stops Spain: don't go there Monaco: pit stop Canada: pit stops and clutch Valencia: pit stop Will they have a mistake free weekend before 2013?
Dont ask stupid questions? *Sarcasm off* Erm...... I wouldn't want to predict that outcome as you know something WORSE! for Lewis is just around the corner with Pit stops, just like the RB6's reliability for Seb. Yes it held for a while but I always had a gut feeling it was always going to come back and rear it's ugly head and piss on the parade.
indeed, I personally thought they did an excellent job in not losing any more time than they did considering what actually happened.
So did Vettel not win the race because he made a mistake? Mclaren were unlucky that the front jack broke and like Miggins said, they reacted to it very well.
If making a mess of putting the front left tyre on shambolically, after they'd swapped to the working jack, is a good pitstop, i'd love to see a bad one.
What are you talking about? the wheel was being put on when the jack went, I'd like to see anyone put a wheel on properly when a jack collapses. Have you been drinking meths again Kyle?
No, i'm sober, i don't drink. Watch the replay, the new jack is under the car, yet they still fumble around taking ages to put the front left on, the front right went on a long time before the front left.
I've voted 'yes' in Sea-Man's poll. But this apparent vote of confidence is based purely on a statistical probability, rather than my faith in McLaren personnel (particularly Sam Michael, who I confess to never really having got along with). - - -o0o- - - As posted elsewhere:I cannot remember a team making so many mistakes (which includes choosing to use new equipment which is ultimately found to be faulty), so consistently. When one considers the relative wealth and resourcefulness of McLaren, it is quite unbelievable that they seem so determined to be their own worst enemy!
the front jack broke after some, but not all, of the tyres were one. i assume they knew this was a problem, as they had a second in reserve, however that broke as well. they tried to make the jacks to complicated with an auto-release mechanism, but a normal one would be much more stable and reliable.
So apparently Ted mentioned after the race that these jacks failed consistently in testing but this is the first time it happend in a race. I wouldn't risk a breaking jack to gain 2 tenths.
