Ok, so young Gosport lad and lifetime Pompey fan Matt Ritchie was deemed not good enough for Pompey by our current manager. I'm not here to discuss whether this was the right decision by the management or not (I don't believe it was in case anyone was interested). However, I do wonder whether we will see him back here at Pompey one day in the future. It is not unusual to see players/managers return to a club they have been at before (Crouch came back, Kaboul + Defoe + Keane all went back to Spurs, Redknapp came back to us, ect), and as a Pompey fan that surely has to be his main aim? I mean... I would give my left bollock to play for Pompey (although I will never have a chance, being **** at football and all that ) So... What do we think? Will a few years at another club(s) build Ritchie in to a players who we will eventually rely on, or did he have his chance + fail to take it? Just curious about wht we all think, that's all
Good luck Matt! Hope we see him playing for Pompey soon. It's always nice to have some locals in the team.
It must be living the dream. I would have given anything, to be good enough to play cricket for Sussex.
