After the way we were treated by Match of the Day last week, I wonder how they'll treat us this week. Will we see 10 - 20 minutes with 80% Stoke, 20% Norwich like they normally do, and then have the pundits make their usual comments about Norwich being lucky to scrape a draw and the penalty being a "stone-wall" penalty and sending off? Or will the beeb give us a fair showing this week, disagree with some of the decisions that didn't go our way and say something positive about the club? I hope we receive the later and get a fair unbiased coverage/opinion of the game tonight
There's Lee Dixon tonight and he's not too bad as a pundit. Shame there couldn't be Dion Dublin again! Seeing as there are only a few games today, we should be on for a decent amount of time.
I can guarantee they will show last weeks mistake by De Laet after the game when commenting on Barnett's "foul" and say with defending like that, we won't survive. To be honest, if they do, they may have a point.
I'm pretty sure that the penalty will stand and Stoke will have bossed us just like Wigan did last week MOTD... FML
Carra, I think both of those pieces of defending were naivity and it won't happen again. Our defence looked pretty amazing today- better than Stoke's and they have a great defensive record. Tierney was solid, de Laet was a contender for MoM and Naughton was a class above. Barnett was great until the error. Only Ayala was a bit shaky, but to be fair to him a nightmare time to be given a debut... Though obviously devastating to see that goal go in at the end, I thought overall our performance was very encouraging- our lack of goal-scoring chances were because we were missing our two best creative players in Hoolahan and Fox. We looked assured when keeping the ball (I don't know why we didn't try and hold onto it more in the last ten mins)
Don't get me wrong, we defended really really well, I was just saying if we make silly errors that can be easily avoided, we will struggle.
Lee Dixon was certainly a 'supporter' last time we were in Prem, so hopefully he'll have something positive to say tonight.
I'm afraid I can't see how Leon actually made a mistake with that penalty incident. All he did was run in a straight line towards the ball, he didn't trip, grab, pull, block or impede Walters in any way - what else was he meant to do, jump out of the way and give the attacker a free run at goal? This game is getting ridiculous with it's petty interpretations of the rules. It's practically a non-contact sport already which is doing my head in. Grow some balls refs for ****'s sake!!
Barnett had a chance to get rid of the ball, but hesitated. If he had of not done that, he wouldn't have given the ref the chance to make the ridiculous decision he made.
Well, we're not last, which is good. When are they going to get rid of Colin 'I know nothing about football' Murray though? I have to mute the TV when he speaks
I've got a feeling a **** Norwich graphic is about to be brought out. Probably Paul lambert riding on a cake with delia or something ****e...
Well, that was a suprise. They actually made us look good, agreed it wasn't a penalty or even a foul and praised how we played. Was not expecting that.
Yeah that was alright. Good look at the penalty NOT a penalty, for me NOT a foul. Blatant dive into the box from a filthy Ipswich caaannt! We always get our own back, don't these premier league fuxkers know that. They should speak to Ian Harte. We ALWAYS get retribution...
