Early days, but looks good to me. He’s a big unit, he commands his box, and he looks like a keeper if you get my drift (unlike Isted, who was so spindly). Not tested much yesterday, but already looks the part and this could turn out to be a good piece of scouting from Nathan Jones. I’d be tempted to abandon the search for a No.1 - we are not going to get what we want at this stage of the window anyway, and give Mannion a run in the team, with AMB as his understudy. Use any money that’s available to reinforce the other end of the pitch.
I thought Manny looked assured enough - barked out directions to the defence. Didn’t concede so no reason to panic buy Neville Southall just yet.
Any keeoer at this level is going to have the occasional clanger, but Mannion hasn’t looked good for weeks now . There’s a clip doing the rounds on Twitter of his mistakes today … I would say now might be the time to change keepers, but is AMB really any better ? Its common knowledge that Jones wanted but didn’t get a new No.1 keeper last Summer.
We have started conceding a lot of goals. More than twice as many since the beginning of October than we did in August and September combined.
AMB was MOM against Chelsea. Whether or not it's because he's got rid of the mask I don't know. But he's worth a chance because of his shot stopping.
