Getting away from the annual pre season issues with SAFC, can't help but notice a few players have decided to jump ship at Leicester. Such a shame really, this was a "team" in the truest sense of the word, looks like the prospect of a more glamorous team and a few extra quid is enough for them to leave. Kante gone, Mahrez looks like he is going as well. Only 2 players, but 2 critical players in my opinion. I'm sure they will be fine but with these two missing where do you reckon, top half, middle or bottom half?
Depends who they replace them with in my opinion. There'll be plenty of good players willing to go there this season. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for M'Vila to replace Kante. Guesstimate - 8th for now
It could affect them, but squad strength and depth will play a part I reckon. Spurs had a much more demanding/inconvenient Europa run last season and had their best run in PL history. Kante will be a big loss though, he was their best player imooc.
Mid table, it'll fall to pieces now. The players who'll be left will feel let down by those who couldn't wait to get away. The bang average players, like Morgan & Huth, won't have such a 'lucky' season ever again. The clackers will fall silent and the media will turn away ....... thank fiick!
Apart from being 100% wrong last season about them being relegated , ,this coupled with a dislike of the former manager pearson who built the backbone of the team ,now it seems he would be good for us,.........strange turn around here and totally wrong by me......(IDIOT) EDITED
They'll be alright. Mendy is a very good young replacement for Kante, not on the same level but neither was Kante! Mahrez is a massive loss assuming he goes and will be very difficult to replace, and that in turn weakens Vardy who's season was at such a level because of their fantastic understanding. Around 12th for me.
Going to need another perfect transfer windows and as we all know there's always a certain aspect of luck with signings. At present I'm going with 8th.
Their success last season was based on their team spirit and Ranieri springing a tactical surprise on the rest of the league. With players willing to jump ship it looks like that team spirit was somewhat vulnerable anyway. Tactically, other sides were beginning to suss them out towards the end of last season and it was their momentum and character that kept them going. Unless Ranieri can pull something else out of the hat I can't t see them repeating their success. I think they'll finish around 10th. For the record, I think Vardy is a very one dimensional player who is only effective if he has space to run in to. He should never have been anywhere near the England squad.
The team ethic wont just go due to a couple of players leaving. They were much more than the sum of their parts so even if some of their parts leave it wont hit them in the same way it could others - there's no way you'd pick their squad in the top 5 from last season, possibly not the top 10. Kante replaced by Mendy and Mahrez by Demerai Gray - both steps down but their overall squad will be stronger by the other additions they have made and will make. Truth is that for all the focus on their big few performers last year they won the league by getting poo to average players like Morgan, Simpson, Fuchs, etc playing consistently better than anyone thought they were capable of. You've got to love Ranieri, i reckon solid top half but not top 4.
which will leaves us where if Sams gone and Moyes in, we need to stay for the dosh but we are not buying
