Robert Huth has been charged by the FA for the forearm smash against Senderos' jaw. Is it a 3 game ban? Absolutely right there is retrospective punishment. Shame Nzonzi can't be punished. What were the crowd chanting after he broke his nose?
Not really on topic, but I'm disgusted (but not surprised) at the complete lack of media reaction to these attacks. The Nzonzi one is particularly disgusting; he got a yellow on the day, so nothing more can be done. It's a ****ing disgrace! If this had happened to a top 6 side we wouldn't hear the end of it.
So far as I could make out it was mainly jeering, with the odd "Get Up You Baby" thrown in. I know the 'rule' is normally that there can't be retrospective punishment if the ref dealt with it on the day, but could the FA not still charge Nzonzi with 'bringing the game into disrepute'? If not for his go at Bryan, then for his gesture to the crowd? Didn't that happen to Rooney a couple of years back? So far as Huth is concerned, they should at the very least take his previous into consideration. It was just so premeditated and for no obvious advantage, other than he's conditioned to do it !! please log in to view this image
I really do not care if action is taken against them... It is not like they will learn. They will do it again if they can get away with it. And being selfish it won't help Fulham. Had they both been sent off during the game might have been different hahaha
These players can't be changed until Pulis leaves Stoke. As long as he's at the helm they will always play that way.
Huth had these tendencies at Chelsea, long before Pulis. But once Pulis goes hopefully this type of player finds less of a home in the top flight.
Defending the indefensible - this article in 'This is Staffordshire' leaves me speechless (although, the highlights are mine) Source: http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-Dave-Kemp-urges-Steven-Nzonzi/story-18256711-detail/story.html#axzz2M5LaUcXA No mention of the Thug Huth, of course.
The incident with Berbatov was bad luck. It absolutely in no way can ever justify punching another player. That's a disgraceful article, trying to paint Nzonzi as the victim of the whole affair. In truth he was incredibly immature and very lucky to escape a punishment.
Despite being given more time to consider, Stoke decided not to appeal the charge against Huth. He has been given a 3 match ban. Some justice, I suppose.
That article is outrageous! I know staff have to protect their side but seriously?! I see some Stokies are as gobsmacked as us, but some are even saying the ban would be inconsistent as Nzonzi only got a yellow!
They should have both got Red cards (using Brede's against Sunderland as my benchmark). I recollect that Danny got into trouble with comments about managers of sides like Stoke - seems not far from the mark. As I said at the weekend, the Stoke fans deserve better. Puts the article into context.
