I fear that we won't pick up any more points in December so..............

WILL the owners put up some cash for transfers in January?
If they do decide to try and buy survival HOW much will they invest? and crucially
WHO will they let spend the money?

Personally I think we are too far adrift to turn the situation around. History shows that only 2 clubs at the bottom of the Premier league at
Xmas have survived. We are showing little or no signs that we can put a string of results together.
I think the time has come for a managerial change. I believe that NP and a number of the players are more suited to Championship football,
no disgrace in that, but not up to Premiership standard.
I would try to recruit Tony Pulis on a short term contract, with a huge bonus and longer term deal dependent on our staying up. It might not be pretty
but I'm sure he would tighten up the defence and make us harder to beat and would probably do it with loan deals, bargain buys etc.
Throwing stacks of money at the wrong type of players would no doubt back fire and leave us in a worse situation later ie when we are relegated.

    Your thoughts?

Have to agree, I am a NP fan but he his to stubborn and his loyalty to his players is all very good, but to many of them are just not up to the premiership and unfortunately will take us down. Did think that the way we played last season we would be ok! But we are so naive and making the same mistakes time and time again. Not going to name players I think we all know who they are. Some are saying it's ok if we go down NP will bring us straight back up again I have my doubts about that because he will rely on the same players that have failed us badly this season

You argue that you fear that you are already relegated,,

"Personally I think we are too far adrift to turn the situation around. "

    Then say,,

"I think the time has come for a managerial change. I believe that NP and a number of the players are more suited to Championship football"

If you think you are going to be relegated, and you think that NP and a number of the players are more suited to the Championship then why not keep the players and manager that you think are suited for the league that you think you will be playing in? Also lets remember that they kicked serious ass for you last season and took you up in first place. Honestly, why not just keep the team and players that you know can handle that league with ease?

Even if you drop you could sign a couple players and come back up. After all you will still have a team that is used to playing with each other, a manger that knows the players and knows what changes need to be done to bounce back up.

To me, the biggest mistake you could make would be to fire NP if you think you are going to be relegated. The 2nd biggest mistake you could make would be to fire NP even if you think there is a chance you might stay up. Keep the man, he has served you well and if your owner shows him loyalty he will continue to serve you well.

Having supported the club man and boy I've seen us get relegated more times than I care to remember - but this is arguably the best 'team' that we have had in that position (when I look at the individuals )and I do believe that a couple of good acquisitions plus cutting out the stupid suicidal tendencies (how many crucial goals have we now coceded from attacking positions?) will give us a fighting chance of survival ... but we need to break the cycle soon ... and NP doeasn't have that good a record in that regard ... which is a worry.

I remember us being described as the best team to ever be relegated back in 1969. Then .................... Jimmy Bloomfield arrived. Should we change now? No idea! Glad I dont have to make that decision. Only NP TR and the board know what transpired pre season with recruitment. Looking forward to beating Spurs on Boxing day!

... not been a bad fixture for us over the years ... remember beating them twice in a couple of weeks back in the 70s - league and FA Cup ... Steve Earle!

Last time we played them at home wasn't bad either.

Our scorers that night were Elvis Hammond, Stephen Hughes and Mark de Vries <laugh>

I remember that. Went to Fulham in the next round of the cup (Mullery scored goal of the season against us) and there were loads of Spurs fans about.

ellewoods says it best, if we have a good championship squad, i dont think change is necessary.

We are not far away from being a good Prem team, we certainly havn't been putting in embarrassing performances (and we certainly havnt been thrashed by anyone).

Pearson said at the start of the season that goals are needed in this league, he knew what was needed and targeted Ulloa to do the job and now we are relying on him too much.

We need to sort out the service in January, we need to bridge the gap between midfield and attack, at this point i'd even put GTF in to come deep and distribute.
