Indeed.. I think dpp is way off when putting joelinton on longstaffs level. Longstaff is a grafter but I dont see him being as good as Joelinton.
Don't think he went that far. Just rates him closer to Longstaff and further from Bruno than we would. I'd say for me, he's comfortably in our 'must keep' players list... Which is growing quite nicely from the MA days. Isak, Bruno, Gordon, Joelinton, Botman (if he comes back the same player he was before the first injury). I hope and expect Livramento and Tonali to join that list quite quickly next season and wouldn't be surprised if Hall proves himself too, though that might take a little longer.
We need more players on the level of Joelinton and above. Barnes is looking a bit below par at the moment, but I suppose it's too early to write him off... the days of signing players on the level of the past are over thankfully, but we still have too many of them.
So am i understanding this correctly (assuming what has been reported is true of course) that this release clause is only valid for this summer only and not for every transfer window that remains of his contract? That’s how it reads to me. Pretty sure he’s just only gonna get better and we won’t be kicking ourselves in two years time with a dud on our hands that ain’t worth half of what we paid for him and wishing we’d taken £100m for him summer! Seems a bit of a pointless clause in the first place but maybe I’m missing something….suppose it guarantees us at least £100m for one month of this window with time to spend it on replacement(s) if nowt else.
He is not going anywhere. Just bought a new house. Family is settled and has close friends here. Bruno loves the place.
Yes god put someone like Tonali next to him instead of Longstaff and Joelinton instead of Anderson and you have a class midfield. I still wish we would go 3-5-2 but we don’t have the players.
Apparently Isak gets a 20% pay drop after this season because we are not qualifying for the champions league.
I suppose he may be. As will Bruno. We are about 4 players short of a top 4 team in my opinion. This summer transfer window is a big one.
Shall I close the thread now or later lads? https://www.facebook.com/share/v/rerD26QbfQ6JBTGE/?mibextid=WC7FNe
I would be considering selling Willock. The kids a good player but he’s made of glass. He’s only played times this season. 5 starts.
His injuries have been concerning. The type of injury almost as much as the frequency. Because of that though, we wouldn't be able to get much for him - his value has to be pretty close to rock bottom at the moment.
