GJ's career has spanned many different clubs with all levels of success and failures.

His rise to prominence with non-league Yeovil and their subsequent promotion to the football league brought him many accolades from his peers and he eventually arrived at Ashton Gate for yet another promotion for his team. We all know what happened in his first year in the Championship when City reached the playoffs only to lose to Hull City in the final.

Following years resulted in slow decline for BCFC and poor form led to his eventual dismissal by mutual agreement from Ashton Gate.

The last 2 years have not been too kind to our old boss and with possible eviction from the football league awaiting his current team, Northampton Town, I would like to wish him well and hope he does not suffer a return to non-league football.

We always referred to him as " our cheeky cockney chappy" and a return to success for a nice guy is something we should all wish for don't you think?

Gary deserves success, yes it was right for him to go when he did as he had gone as far as he could with city, but lets not forget what he did for us, promotion, play off final good attacking football at the gate. Apart from Lee Jhonson Gary did a lot of good for Bristol City it would be a real shame to see him dissapear out of the football league and waste his talents in non-league, but Gary if your reading this please re-sign litlle Lee he really needs a new club and a new direction in his life!

spoke to LJ at awards night, said he spent 3 hours trying to stop his dad going to Northampton, but his love of football and being out of the game waiting was too much!
