I like the guy. he's proven to be a decent manager at West Brom, he's got alot of good things to say about the Chelsea lads, and overall, he's been at Chelsea for a long time. (played their, assitant manager and caretaker manager.) Would you take a chance on him, especially if he turns things round for in the latter stages of the season... I know I would...
He has to do something pretty spectacular between now and the end of the season to even be made an offer! I understand he has already made a statement saying he planned to return to Italy permanently in the summer! As he said "its one game at a time"!
di matteo would never of even been on my short list to manage chelsea, far to inexperienced, but if he does do really well i think he should defo be given a chance in the hot seat.
Depends on two things, first being the players reaction towards him and whether he can handle the ego's.
I really think this is a none starter. He was leaving this summer anyway and I don't see that changing.
Moyes would be a good choice as would Stokes old boy. Both can organise a team and command respect, got to be half the battle.
Managers are not the problem. Players, owners and management are. We've had good managers, bad managers, mediocre managers, and the result is exactly the same. Every year we hang on to past glories and same players, we slip further down the pole. Any new manager , without a serious change in attitude from above and a complete clean out of the old guard ,will be a carbon copy of all those who have gone before. Another year and another 100 mill wasted.
