Funny, I'm pleased for him but there's no going back. I was sad for him to leave but it was time, it now appears that both he and us needed a fresh challenge. Although I was unhappy at the start of the season as we seemed really unsettled, but things seem to be playing out ok now. Quite like where we're at at the moment
Not for me! The squad Hollaway built has plenty of pace and few goal scorers, something we lacked after 5 seasons. I think he has done very well, but let's see what happens next season when he starts buying players.
I'm in agreement with Smithers, let's see what happens when he starts buying. He did some decent business in January, got some players I doubt he would have at Stoke. Maybe it's just being in London that was easier to attract them, or maybe leaving us gave him a bit of a kick up the arse, but after leaving he defended his style by basically saying you do what you can with the players you've got, and he'd play a different style if he had Chelsea's squad, despite the fact that it was him buying more expensive versions of the players we'd already got! But credit to him, Palace have really surprised me since he took over. I knew he could get them organised and hard to beat, but it was too late to be relying on one point at a time.
A Happy Easter to all, except that Welsh bloke. Anyway here is an Easter puzzle re my thread. Rearrange these words; In, Tongue, Cheek.
Good post Sandor. I still expected Palace to be relegated when he took over but 5 wins on the spin (including THREE away wins, scoring 7 goals) is remarkable if surprising. I just hope they don't finish above us since the reason Stoke got rid of TP was to move to the next level so imagine the irony if Palace did overtake us.
I don't think they will overtake us but even if they do, it was still the right time for a change. Onwards and upwards.
He has inherited a team that can play football but couldn't defend, at Stoke he built a team that coudn't play football but could defend. We needed a change and regardless of where Palace finish in the table we have got the better deal.
