Last year you had the superstars and didn't get promotion. This year I looked at your team and thought 10th place at best. You have got a team. Will it be enough to get promoted? JH - Just F Off. Only sensible comments.
Well, Cardiff are going to be in the mix again, I am pretty sure about that and pleasantly surprised. I always thought Malky would do a good job but to get this team (not full of big names) playing they way the do is a huge credit to the man. I suspect it is more likely to be the play offs again though and Bluebirds fans know as well as anyone what that is going to be like.
Pleasantly surprised sums it up nicely. Looking for a top ten spot at the start of the year & sticking with for me.
January will be make or break time. Deffensively we have cover, but we have no depth in mid-field. If we can bring 2-3 players of similar ability or better into the midfield we'll make the playoffs. Autos are likely to be a step too far. Given I, like most of the guys on our board, thought top third with an outside chance of the playoffs at the start of the season, I'd be delighted with a playoff position. At the moment, I'm still looking down the table to see how many points 7th place have. It doesn't stop me having a glance at 2nd every now and then.
As others have said, it all depends on the January window. Malky won't bring people in just to make up numbers so we know if he brings 2 or 3 they will be "Malky type players". I'm looking for the playoffs.
Yes, and in an automatic place as well. Second spot will do, though I think the second half of the season will see us pushing for top spot rather than just trying to hang on for a playoff place. We all know we need better depth for Malky to draw on as the absence of Gunnar and McPhail demonstrated at Millwall, but on his performance since he's been with us, I think Malky will get the support from the owners that he needs to seriously challenge.
Far too early to be speculating about promotion. Some congested months coming up shortly.Patience is the watch word.
interesting views so far, at the start of the season my head said top 8-10 but heart top 6, so MM is doing excellently so far, pretty much all of his signings have been a success, with some gems. will he get the backing to try and stay where we are, or even go one better? i think he will, the owners will know that some money invested now will be the difference between the season fading, or kicking on and maintaining the high standards set so far. the unbeaten run keeps going, and we hardly ever lose so thats got to be great for the players mentality going into tough games
Been saying this since the start of the season and tbh I thought you were a little deluded (I obviously hoped you were right!). But I'm starting to believe in a big way! Current midfield cover is not ideal but we did have '3 first teamers' out when Kiss went off against Millwall and did ok. If January brings 1 centre mid and one winger with a bit of pace, we'll be right there. I think West Ham are the only current top 8 team that can handle losing 1 or 2 of their key players and still challenge for the auto's. You look at everyone else and there's a player or 2 that would seriously change their season if he got injured.
With a bit of help in January , Cardiff has as good a chance as any to not only win the Championship but could sneak the League cup , I would have laughed at myself saying this at the start of the season .
This is your only chance of 'getting up'
If we are to get promoted we need a bigger and stronger squad. Having said that who's to say a small compact unit can't get promoted if we remain injury free and our fitness and stamina levels remain at the optimum levels. Fingers crossed
Well it seems that your chairman thinks "the sky's the limit", so hell we could rekindle those old derbies, where we show you how to play the great game!.................. please log in to view this image
judas and co?? no, they just realised what they were doing please log in to view this image although thanks for not having enough ambition to make them want to stay
On 76 mins Middlesborough scored and there was a fire drill at the CCS. Not having a go at Cardiff because it happens at a lot of clubs - but with 14 minutes to go why do people leave the stadium when you are 1 goal down? There is no point in going.
