Is it me or are all these new stadia, from the outside at least, beginning to look exactly like Alianz Arena?
Not sure what the corporate facilities are like at the Nou Camp are, but £500m for a extra 6,000 seats seems a lot of money.
It was built in 1957 and it looks like in places, it's been tarted up over the years, but it's not got the facilities of most modern stadiums.
It's the same as Stade Velodrome - 270m euros for an extra 7000 steats: http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/finals/news/newsid=2166476.html http://stadiumdb.com/news/2014/10/marseille_velodrome_opened_after_reconstruction
In addition to the extra seats, they'll both have a roof, I don't think people like getting wet when it rains nowadays.
I remember watching England vs Morocco at Stade Velodrome at France 98 as a kid. Coincidently I had a dentist appointment that day. Wasn't just all open? Nou Camp just looks like old open bowl Colosseum.
I always thought the stands there had really shallow banks of seats. I bet you could hardly see over the guy in front.
Was visiting Nou Camp when Terry Venables was in charge and they had both Garry Lineker and Steve Archibald playing for them, wife had a camera in her handbag but I didn't know until later on, no digi stuff in those days, sigh! Met Terry, but Garry was on a training pitch with Steve. I was lead to believe that to get in the ground on match days in those days you had to be a member of the football club, no membership no ticket.
It's called the York Community Stadium... http://www.not606.com/threads/york-city-to-get-new-stadium.295894/
It's actually got a swimming pool, four volleyball/basketball courts, three 3G pitches, climbing walls/extreme sports hall, gyms and dance studios, so I think they've pretty much covered all bases and could probably accommodate the odd trampoline.
