Will Bale come back a broken man?

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Sep 12, 2012.

  1. Getting slapped 6-1 at international level is about as bad as it can get.

I know that Bale scored a scorcher of a free-kick, but that will be cold comfort to him, given that he contributed to his team's trouncing.

Let's see if he's the star we all hope he is, and can use this humiliation to spur him on to better things.

So would you guys prefer Vertonghan or Bale taking your free kicks?

Bale, I was championing him at free kicks before the season started as I know before we signed him he scored some crackers, so if he steps up with confidence he can do it for us.

In fairness, we got a couple of batterings last year so he should be used to it !!!!

He wasn't broken by our first half non-appearance at the San Siro when we played Inter...

I don't think he'll be broken by this, but he's been playing like he's got lead in his boots for us this season. Here's hoping we see Gareth full steam ahead again on Sunday.

I don't think the Wales result will affect him this weekend.

The ego of players doesn't let them worry about beatings as they feel it wasn't their fault.

I was thinking of adding that, but you saved me the job

In all seriousness some of the blame for Bale's poor displays this season must surely lie at AVb's door, as he looks lost at times out there.

Anyway, let's hope the Reading game seems a return to form for GB.

    Yep, really <laugh>

You must have noticed, it's called AVBitis, it's affected quite a few of our players this season. It nearly did for Chelsea last season till they had the sense to get rid of him

Ghoddle... We've played 3 games. 3 games with a lot of internal turmoil thanks to, among others, Modric and VdV. I think you should give AVB until at least the next three games, after he's had time to bond with his FULL squad, before you start spouting stuff about AVBitis. I'm sorry, but I respect you as a poster, but some of the stuff you say makes me react the same way I did when I met someone convinced Hurricane Kartrina, AID's, Michael Jackson's death etc. was all to be blamed on the Illuminati. Just relax for a while man, wait and see, I've got a feeling that he'll come good. Based on nothing, granted, but he's obviously got a plan, so lets just let him put it into place.

Spurlock started it, I wasn't going to mention AVB until he piped up

I'm afraid I can't relax while we've got 2 points on the board and are in the wrong half of the table, if we start winning I'll start relaxing.
