Bristol City is getting to the point where they have a lot of young untried talent. I was never on the back of LJ as a player, watched his progress at OLDHAM and BARNSLEY but was somewhat shocked when SL got him in as manager ...initially … however, I could see the "fresh approach based on Barnsley/ lesser extent Oldham, he was trying to bring. At a time when it was beginning to lose its way SL EXTENDED HIS CONTRACT … SL had a plan and was sticking to it .although some of his press conferences [that he shied away from before and has since ] became a little more intense as he gave his support and bit the bullet. SO ANYWAY Lee is now doing quite well IN TOP 6 AND TIME TO SACK HIM … OH NO that's what other teams do ….. …… So why does he not feed in these young starlets more often? is it because he believes he is on the cusp of getting into play off's or going to Wembglee? [ he got Barnsley to Wembglee and left to join us! ] we have seen that given opportunities the younger talent step up to the mark … in our history we have had a few young'uns step up …. MO, Antoine, Hakeeb, Taylor & Joe ...OK cant play them all at once but they should get game time at least every 3rd game! We will never know what they truly capable of if not given time ….
Antoine will get his time when it's right for the team and perhaps it may come as a substitute up at Blackburn. Lee will give him some quality time on the pitch, perhaps when we are in unassailable position.
There's been a lot going on for the young man - so Lee will only put him in when his head is right - much will depend on how he shapes up in training As with Lloyd - there is no rush
Slow and steady is the key because he needs his head and heart in the right place before he gets his time. Careers can be damaged by managers putting players like Antoine in to the fray before the time is right and yet I have the impression that he's itching to get going.
