He'll walk back into the team if Guly keeps playing like that, How ever i know Guly has been ill so maybe he wasn't quite up for it in comparison to recent appearances.
Would like to point out that Guly was massively involved in the build-up to our first! But yeah Lallana will slot straight back in, he is such a talent
I do like your tongue in cheek posts Godders; how much would we get for him? It's good that we have come through this period aswell as we have without him, but I am looking forward to a fit Adam Lallana back in the team. A good point is that this run will mean we can ease him back, rather than panic him back when he'll need a bit of match time to hit top form.
Adam will be fully aware that he can't take his place in the side for granted, he's not the type of person to get complacent. But he will slot straight back in on the left when he's fit. I'm delighted how we've coped without him though.
Although its tongue in cheek, its actually an interesting point that one of my non Saints mates brought up awhile ago. Are we a more balanced team when only one of Ramirez and Lallana are on the pitch? They are both very creative attacking players which most teams in our position only have one of. It is of course a blessing that we have 2 of the quality of Ramirez and Lallana in the squad, but does the team as a whole perform better results wise with just one in the side?
If our front four weren't so fluid I might agree with you. However, the different combinations of linking up that go on with Adam, Ramirez, Puncheon, and Rickie give us so many attacking options. As just one example, take our second goal against Newcastle, with Lallana and Punch linking up on the left, a cross into the 6 yard box and Gaston scores. If you watch our team you will see them swapping positions all the time. As their confidence builds, they will become a force to be reckoned with.
We've done better than we could have hoped without our best player. When Adam returns, we can start turning some of those hard fought draws into wins.
Yes. Lallana and Luke Shaw learning how to play together on the left-hand side is not just vital for Saints but also for England and also, maybe just for mankind in general.
Silly question, of course he will. He's far more talented than Guly and although we've done alright without him, we need him back down that left hand side. (I'm not a Guly hater)
