    good comment this

A terrorist today in solitary confinement, who will it be tomorrow? Solitary confinement for prolonged periods was tried by American prisons historically, on the naive assumption that the prisoners would find God. instead they went insane. Torture, imprisonment without trial, rendition, the laws of the west are have been defaced by 'terrorists' who are thus winning their war.

I read a piece in the Guardian which reckons that Syria's biggest supporter is Israel

Hence no action by the 'west'

This is down to the ruling party (assads) in syria being a minority, the majority being Sunni and the shia which are a bigger 'threat' to Israel

Although realistically the biggest 'threat' in the middle east IS israel

It's amazing how many people in this country seem to support human rights with conditions (this is going by the numbers complaining about various rulings in the human rights courts). We can pick and choose who human rights apply to because they are HUMAN rights and thus must apply to ALL humans equally. Everyone should have the same rights, that is the simple thing that makes the UK different from a dictatorship and the law should be passionless as that is what gives us our freedom.

Sam this is the most dangerous thing for me

Peoples 'hatred' fuelled by media, propoganda and fear is helping the government into making decisions we will ALL regret in the longrun

Look through out history from the Romans to the Nazis and this IS the tactic that lead to trouble.

I was reading an interesting article that actually pointed to FACTS and MYTHS, it was quite diverse

Fro goal line techonlogy to Islamic terrorism.

It basically said that goal line technology is being sought by ALL, yet if you look at the ACTUAL incidents where it was/is needed it doesnt justify the money. The only person benefitting would be the companies doing the supplying. Football in general would be shelling out for something that occurs once in blue moon

The same applies to Islamic fundamentalism, looking at it in terms of time (decades) and actual resultant deaths, it basically argues we have spent and lost (in term of civil liberties etc) a lot more than required

But give it enough coverage and the populace will bite despite facts

Good point, but it can be said about the anti-war types too

"The war is all about oil"

Say it enough times and its accepted as fact

If you still believe it, check the prices

anti war types are like thegreen party for me. A few good ideas amongst many that are unworkable

I dont for one second dispute the need and 'wars' for resources. Its gone on for time immomorial

From water to Oil to technology its always been there

What I meant was things like it being easier to kill the president of the USA than to steal the blueprints for the next Ford

Facts often are very removed from reality

Human rights should be reserved for actual humans, not handless hate-filled religious nutjobs who would happily bomb a school as long as it was full of kids who followed another religion.

Anyone who thinks Abu Hamza should be afforded the protection of the legal system which he thinks is evil and anti Islamic, should be lined up shot alongside him.
