Just take a quick look at these
And see if those down low, with ease,
Will pick up the wins
To help save their skins
None of them look to have a breeze

And although to score the two score
In points, most say will win the war,
I´m not sure this year
If three will get there
From these five down near the trap door.

All of which leads me to wonder if we may not already be very close to safety, certainly with the points we´ve got, there´s no reason not to try and extend the FA Cup run we´re on at the moment. The Budweiser FA Cup Final between Norwich City and ??? would have a nice ring to it, you must admit.

:)

Thought much the same myself RBF. I don't want to tempt fate but I realistically can't see any of the bottom 5 stringing a minimum of 5 wins together just to close the gap with City. However, another 1 or 2 wins in our back pocket would make me feel a little easier <ok>

Much has been written,in prose and in verse
About how to avoid the relegatory curse.

Some say the points needed are forty or more
Personally I say, just thirty plus four.

That will suffice in my humble esteem
To put you above the eighteenth placed team.

And down at the bottom with all the dead men
The names that so easily come to my pen.

There's Hughes and Martinez and only one more
It would have been Mic Mac,but that was before.

Those renegade Brummies made him walk the plank
So we know who the team is,but his name remains blank.

Cruyff´s Turn, my friend
We agree no end
Although it tempts fate to say so,
Let´s hope quite soon
And well before June
Our ticket´s booked for next year´s show. OTBC

From early on I've always thought 38 points would be enough. Latterly the gap to 18th place has been widening rather than narrowing, but with 13 games to go mathematical certainty is still a long way away. Judging from his recent comments, PL is determined to keep the squad focussed on that rather than anything less.
