Dropping a division to QPR only option for timid Man United star

Wilfried Zaha must seek a move after another confidence-sapping episode at Man Utd

The collapse in confidence that Wilfried Zaha has experienced since signing for Manchester United resembles a man that has spent one too many late nights watching the England cricket team during the Ashes.

The latest chapter in The Curious Case of Wilf saw the winger dropped from the starting lineup for his club’s most recent U21 match, before coming on as a substitute and performing particularly poorly.

So with his self-belief clearly shot, we’ve drawn up a list of teams that are in need of a winger and can help Zaha rediscover his mojo, grading the suitability of each one.

    Liverpool – E

The Reds, who are battling to make good on their 17/20 odds to finish in the top-four, would just be a too high-pressured move for the 21-year-old.

Signing for a Champions League-chasing club isn’t going to do Zaha’s poise any good, as he’d be expected to perform right away.

    Stoke – D

The Potters’ direct style of play wouldn’t suit Zaha, who needs a team that will make full use of his pace and powerful running with the ball.

Stoke’s preference to play up to, and off of, a tall striker like Peter Crouch makes them and Zaha a poor fit.

    Swansea – B

Swansea, who are relegation candidates and 11/1 shots to go down, would be the ideal Premier League landing spot for the former Crystal Palace man.

Playing a possession-based style of football, and with a host of injuries to attacking players, the Liberty stadium would likely offer the game-time Zaha craves. Except there’s just one destination that appeals greater.

    Queens Park Rangers – A

Signing for a high-flying, London-based, Championship club would rekindle happy memories of Zaha’s time with the Eagles and QPR, who are 9/5 to win the division, fit that bill.

A drop in league would be of great benefit, while Harry Redknapp’s notorious love of attacking wingers plays right into the Man United man’s hands.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.

Hed be fantastic but I dont see him dropping down.

Teams like Swansea or WBA should be far more likely to get him.

Good to see its not just us that ****s up previously rated players. Perhaps he could keep Hoilett company, doing whatever he does.

I think Moyes is stubbornly refusing to play him as he was an AF signing. They are crying out for his sort of talent imo.

whereas the likes of Hoilett, O'Neil etc don't ever drift into games. zaha and Philips would be great, especially if we offer Hoilett in part exchange for Rhodes.

Would the ego allow a drop into the Championship?

I don't think that he would want to drop down, even on loan, as it then looks like a failure on his part.

Manchester United's £15million star forced to deny relationship with manager David Moyes's 19-year-old daughter

Wilfried Zaha, 21, condemns claims of relationship with Lauren Moyes
Denies rumours that it's the reason he's not being picked for matches
£30,000-a-week footballer denies ever even meeting the 19-year-old

A £30,000-a-week Manchester United footballer has denied having a relationship with his manager’s daughter.
Wilfried Zaha, 21, condemned claims that the reason he was not being picked for games by David Moyes was because of a relationship with the boss of the Premier League side's daughter Lauren.
The winger, who has struggled to break into the team since his £15milllion move from Crystal Palace in the summer, told his 490,000 Twitter followers that he had never even met Miss Moyes, 19.

Ahead of today’s home league defeat against Newcastle United, Zaha said yesterday afternoon: ‘I've never dated or even met David Moyes’s daughter, so that isn't the reason for my absence in games.
‘I would like to stop all these false accusations. I will play for Manchester United when my manager feels I'm ready.’

Zaha has only played three times for the Red Devils so far this season - in the 2-0 Community Shield win over Wigan Athletic in August, the 4-0 League Cup victory over Norwich City in October and the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle today.
Club message boards and social media websites were rife with claims about why he was not being picked by Mr Moyes, who took over management of the club from Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer.

But Zaha moved to dismiss the rumours yesterday, before later deleting the tweets. His agent also said that the claims were ‘rubbish’.

Miss Moyes deleted her Twitter account when the rumours first surfaced in October, with Zaha moving at the time to describe the claims on Twitter as ‘silly’.
Zaha, who is expected to be loaned out next month, has been watching from the sidelines as his team have struggled in the league under their new manager - currently sitting in ninth.
Mr Moyes, 50, who is married to Pamela, has two children - Lauren, and 22-year-old David Jnr.

A definite yes from me, a better more consistent performer than Hoilett.
