Is he worth a punt in January? Young and flairy player, just what we need. And has plenty of potential...
Sorry Dan, but no. Welcome by-the-way. All future signings ( except Eden Hazard, think Modric & Messi had a love child together! ) The formula for success this season is, 1. Prem experience, 2. Still has something to prove. 3. Can still potentially feature in Euro 2012, but not getting a regular game at the moment. That will keep us up. Not this......... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-QPR-eye-PAOK-defender-Georgios-Fotakis.html
999, we wouldn't have signed Les Ferdinand based on the above. There has to be some element of planning on the future, although I'd agree we do need some more solid Premier League experience as a priority.
I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago along with Ambrose and was told I was mad so I wouldn't bother if I were you, however between you and me I think he has the attributes that we need for future squad building and could even make the grade now given the right circumstances, good post Dan.
I would def take a punt on him, even if it meant buying him and then loaning him out to a championship side for a season to help him develope. NW would have seen him play at youth level so he would know what he is capable of.
Good shout Ninj, could send him on loan for the first season or two.. He's only 19 years young. He played very well against a United defence that was still premiership quality even if it were they're reserve players. Thanks for going easy on me gents, was my first post after all
I enjoyed watching the Man Utd vs. Palace game yesterday and Zaha certaintly turned those 2nd string Utd defenders inside out in the first half, although he obviously tired in the 2nd half. Fantastic 35 yard goal strike by Ambrose and he hit another 40 yard free kick that was narrowly saved - wish we had had him taking some of our set pieces and crosses! Ambrose also provided the perfect cross for Murray to head the winning goal in from. The desire of Palace to win was evident and Utd, despite all their passing prowess, never seemed to have anyone willing to step up and actually take a shot on goal (bit like us at Norwich).
999, you've got to give up this thing about Hazard. He's one of Europe's top players and will be at Real Madrid soon most likely. There is a 0% chance of him ever coming to us.
Over here, we may have no choice. Euro's suffered a career-ending injury, punt is the only one on the bench.
No, not this season anyway. Premiership survival is our number one priority, and signing players such as Zaha would make no sense at this stage.
Dyer was free and we were owned by Ecclestone. Plus, Dyer comes under "still has something to prove."
Not sure of his first name, but the son of the former US manager Bob Bradley (who had a brief loan spell at Villa last season) would be a valuable addition to our midfield, IMO. Presumably would be reasonably priced, although I have no clue who he plays for now. Also the WBA midfielder Chris Brunt I think is a quality player, though don't know if he's available.
