If the reports are to be believed and Delboy is offered the managers job here, he will apparently be bringing in his own no 2. which is quite right too, its often the 'team' that works well.

But Steve Wigley seems a good bloke so can we not find a position for him? I think he would make a perfect academy director what with all his U21 experience. We need a sweep out through the club this would seem a perfect match to me. (if he is interested of course)

If not that then what next for Wigs?

Incidentally, I have a good feeling about today.

i think we need a total clear out, as people have said its far to comfortable at the club

as for wigs, i think if mcinnes is made manager and his assitant comes in then i think thats the end of the road for SW

Frankly no. He needs to be shown the door and is part of the failure. Shame Millen wasn't kicked out when we had the chance.

Surely his experience with the kids and his contacts across the country with the U21's could be put to use?

After yesterday I thought his tactics and team selection was miles in front of Millens!

This worries me as you now have to question the ability of the players. There were comments made on here this week along the lines of "even Millen could get a result from this game".

Let's hope the new manager is able to bring back the players belief, if not I worry that January may be to late to turn things around.

    remind me when was that?

his team selection almost got there, but a similar end game though!

For those that went / according replays and "stats" we may as well play 4-6-0 Midfield being JCR, BOLA,KILKO,MARV,CISSE, ADDY defence perm 4 from 7

Well I thought we were better yesterday, Cisse played well and stewart wasn't too bad, you have to ask why they weren't given a chance before?

I'll be honest I'm glad to see the back of Millen and I think the players are too. Maybe a similar 'end game' but best effort so far this season.

John can you correct me on this, did you not say that you was not going yesterday?

You can look at the stats all you want and the replays, but I have said this on another thread, yesterday the way we played was miles better, kept the ball on the floor, Cisse done a good job tidying up the midfield, Stwewart never the fastest but can tackle and poses a threat on corners for us.
If the players just had a bit more confidence and a bit of luck I believe the result would of gone for us. Ferguson even admitted the first half they did not deserve anything from the game.
It is because we messed around giving Millen the chance to prove us wrong that we are in this mess. The players did not know their tits from arses what to do and neither did Millen if we never scored in the first 15 minutes we sat back and allowed teams to come at us.
Stats mean bollox all to me if the team has desire and plays for the badge on their chest the results will come

John. I quite admired your loyalty to Millen when he was our manager, I like loyalty.

But now you seem to be clutching at straws regarding Millen, You seem to be oblivious to his blatant flaws and are now looking to shift the blame to all and sundry, its not washing with me.
I cant see how Wigley can be branded as part of the failure, yesterdays game showed he was obviously just showing loyalty to his manager, ( a good trait, I reckon)

I said back last January that Keef should go........had a lot of flack from most fans saying he deserved a chance.....I couldn't understand on what basis.....
It was there then for all to see that he was never gonna be the right manager.
The football was dreadful, his decisions were dreadful, his formations were dreadful, his tactics were dreadful, his excuses were dreadful.
I'm not sure about Wigs, he could carry on as assistant but ONLY if the new manager wants him. If the New manager wants to bring in his own team, then thats what should happen....

There should be no cheap options or cutting corners.

I'm looking more at sorting out youth and academy. It seems flawed to me at the moment.

JGF2 - When Johnson was shown the door Millen should have been sacked too and had that happened, just maybe we wouldn't be in this mess now. Aside from the calamitous decision to then bring in Coppell when he clearly wasn't interested, Millen then retained the job as Assistant Manager so that's the best that Coppell could do ? C'mon !

I was hoping that Wigs could bring us some fresh youngsters from Prem teams who would be keen to come and show off thier stuff to try and get a look into the U21 side. Wigs obvioulsy has coaching experience and I agree that he would be good for the academy.
