It's a shame we couldn't hold onto him, would have been perfect to run the academy but I'm guessing that he didn't want too.

Maybe this will free up a bit of wages for Del to bring in another coach more to his tastes though.

Ah, but we haven't had a rich man pump tens of millions into our club and still end up as abject failures with falling attendances, 7 points from safety and no new stadium!

Sleeping giants! <laugh>

Sorry, Wigley must share the blame for the awfull start to the season, I believe alot of Millens problems came from Wigley, tacktics, gameplan, set-up etc etc Millen took too much notice of him.

If the decision to also remove Millen from the clubs employ had been taken when Johnson left we might not be in the bleeding mess that we are now.
Just a thought.................

Bit like Millen lost the plot...
... a guess?

He was an asset, links to U21 and with all the "talent" out there dont think the FA would have him if he was not morethan reasonable

Good luck Steve - a victim of circumstance
Its always the way often useful bits go out with the "spring clean"

Good riddance I say, a clean out of the back room staff was long overdue

Totally unsubstansiated comment, how do know KEEF took more than a passing interest in him,
look at the 3 teams he put out...I know they lost but so did DEMI's first one.

JGF2 - I think the point people are trying to make is it was more of a cultural issue at the club rather than about the results he was personally responsible for.

He was Millens man so when Millen went people felt wigley was part of that culture that had failed the club -so he had to join him.

Not sure coaching the national side at any level is much to shout about these days.

the point is Wigley didnt follow on with KEEF'S team he changed it and the way we played if he had a influence on Keef surely Keef would have played similar.

I am sad he has gone , we have had Calks, Spence and McG IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS....

But yet another new page turns, seen a lot of pages since 1966......

Walshie(Walshie didn't fail IMO),Wigley and Millen have been cleared out after constant failures, thank god we've got a brand new regime of hope that we can all unite behind after 18 months of going backwards....

Up the City....
