Just watched a classic PO game between Huddersfield & Bournemouth and must say Wiggins looks class. He would make a great signing and obviously an important purchase for us to fill the LB position we desperately need. Now that the Cherries have failed to get through to the final what do you think our chances are of securing his signature ?? We need to move fast before we lose out again COYH

I hate to sound like a broken record, but surely there is a better option. If A.Taylor is a free agent some time soon, which i believe he is, isnt this the best option we have? Correct me if i am wrong but he has not signed a new deal at Boro' which indicates that he is happy to leave and surely they would take the £200,000 we offered over £0? Why go for an unknown entity when we could have the old tried and tested. But i have to agree with Norway, it depends on how much DG goes for and IF Young is sold for more than 15mill.

The problem is horneydan is IMO A Taylor is unlikely to be a free agent. Boro would be able to offer him at least parity money wise as us despite their financial restrictions and now he has got his mojo back playing for Mowbray would again IMO sway his decision to stay in his hometown. Therefore Wiggins in the next best option.

I respect your opinion chris, but how do you explain that after negotiations there has been do deal reached and there has been no news about him, untill there is either way i am holding on to thin polystyrine tubes.

If A Taylors out of contract forget 200k he's on a free. Question is and was the wages...and we need two left backs in in my opinion

Totally agree there Aberdeen - we have to stop leaking at the back - I know the Watford way is to concede as many as you like and then score more - but with DG going in all probablilty then scoring will not be so easy

Boro`s ploy has been to get hold of all the left sided players in league and make everyone else struggle, quite clever really ,until the money ran out!

I felt we were dead certs to sign him in the summer in January. But his stock has risen in the last four months, probably more than any other Championship player over that period of time.

    (Andrew Taylor that is)

If we get the AY and DG 'windfall', maybe we should just get both and can use Taylor as a Left Winger when we want to bring Wiggins into the team!

...Sorry, drifted off for a minute there...

If it's between him and Doyley, I can think of a certain regular poster who would think long and hard about it. <laugh>

Taylor is available on a free, its down to his "personal terms". Wiggins will leave Bournemouth as he has upset the club with his attitude.

I think MM has an initial "transfer budget" as DG is certain to leave, with this he can commit to signing(s), but it is well known our wage policy is restrictive - hence I doubt if Malky will sign many name players. This budget may grow if players are sold unexpectedly and/or there is an Ashley Young factor.

I liken this summer's dealings to 2005, there will be player movements, DG is the key which will start the merry go round.

We know that the shares were bought for just under half a million but isn't there also a 3 million cash injection in the deal which amounts to new capital so should at least partially be available for cashflow for player trading?

Thing is Elixir, while I'm certain that Graham is going in this transfer window, I'm also quietly confident that he hasn't played his last game for the club. Much like Tommy Smith two years ago.
