Up for player and manager of the month respectively. That said, I'd imagine they will go Clark and Rhodes- much easier for a striker to win these awards than a left back. Good to see Rhoys get the recognition though!
For a defender he hasn't done much 'defending' worthy of recognition, just his 'surging runs forward'. Surely it would make more sense having BWP nominated? 5 goals in the past 3 games if I remember correctly, and has only featured for the full 90mins in one of those games. Powell should get manager of the month I reckon, yes we lost to Stevenage, but three wins, two of which were 4-0 is a pretty great response and it takes a decent manager to get that sort of response from the players.
Wiggins contributed to 1 goal conceded in 3 and gotten 5 assists. That's very impressive if you ask me.
The thing about Solly is that he is not as flamboyant (if that's the right word) as Wiggins, he just gets on with the job being solid and calm at the back, which he does supremely well. I'm not surprised that nobody has noticed him, which is probably a good thing, particularly if bigger clubs have been scouting us. I agree, he probably should be nominated. But I don't mind him going unheralded.
Wiggins has been the stand-out player for me for many weeks now, and although I was highly critical of his very early season form, for me he is the first name of the teamsheet, even ahead of BWP!
Super, the number of assists is reflective of his ability attacking. Defensively I think he's quite rubbish, I'll allow myself to be quotes on that - his heading is poor and he seems to mis-read long balls and wingers attacking runs, luckily nothing too bad has come of this. I'll be shot down for this post I know, but prior to the last three games I felt he was the weakest link in the team, and even now I still worry about him to some extent. I can't deny that he has shown in the past three games, that he's brilliant going forward though.
I'd rather they not win. Remember what happened last time that Parky won the Manager of the Month after a 11 Game Unbeaten Run, sitting in 3rd Place (correct me if I'm wrong). It all just went downhill for us, from there on out. Maybe he can win, Manager of the Season. If there is such thing. And as they'd be no games to play, no bad omens.
"Manager of the Month" must be one of the silliest awards in sport. Regardless of whether or not CP wins it I have started to feel that he is turning out to be a very very good manager. Time will tell of course but that's how it seems to me.
I argue he has hit form since September time- don't think it's 3 games. That said, we view him in 2 completely different ways. Can't so much for his heading as haven't seen many diagonal balls hit towards him(especially compared to solly). I also think he is pretty good in the tackle, but we will disagree to disagree or we might have an ackworth and 56 years a charlton fan, type fall out
No thanks. I think the way it works is, if you win Manager of the Month, the following month is a disaster, so if you win Manager of the Season then the whole of the following season would be a disaster. It's a punishment for hubris. Probably originated in the Greek League.
Looks like fans player of the season will be an interesting one with a lot of players playing so well! That being said i guess where still only in November
Good, it was mkdons that won it last month and look where they are now, hopefully they'll drop form and we can make some space
