    OPPOSING FANS SECTION

    Rivalries, and fan base:
    Bolton, Preston and Oldham ...

    Famous Fans:
At first I couldn’t find anyone, but then I made big discoveries! They supposedly include:
Former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev (see at end of presentation), President of Egypt Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, Sky News anchor woman Kay Burley, The Verve lead singer Richard Ashcroft, BBC personality and author Stuart Maconie, Political Correspondent for the BBC Paul Rowley ... can the politicians really be true?

    Nicknames and Mascots etc.
Latics - shortened version of second name Athletic.
The club mascot is “Stripey the Laticat”

    MATCH DAY EXPECTATIONS

    Attendances:
Wigan’s average at home this season is 18,488 – unfortunately penultimate in the attendance charts, but better than QPR anyway! They’re 73.3% of capacity ...

    Squads and Team News:
Not available yet - please add any news in your posts and comments - one of the most important things to add here before kick-off!

    SCORE PREDICTIONS

    My own verdict:
    I feel we’ll get a win, just: Wigan 0 Reading 1 (HT 0-0)

    What do others say?
The Oddschecker site, listing nearly all the major betting companies, shows Wigan are firm favourites to win, no money made here. Reading are just a shade over 3/1 for an away victory, and a draw sees odds of about the same ...

Speaking to some Liverpool fans this week, Wigan looked very good before conceding at Anfield. If we're gonna get anything out of this game, we need to stop Wigan stroking the ball about and keep the tempo high. I'd settle for a point. Our record recently at Wigan is shocking.

I'd be happy with any away point, Wigan being no exception. But this really has to be a good time to play Wigan because they have so many first team players out with injury.
