I saw a headline that said that Wigan were up to 7th in the Championship. A closer look showed me that they are only 1 point behind 5th with 2 games in hand, so play offs are very realistic. It also said that last night was their 7th straight win.

Sheff Utd now have 10, not to mention their 7 clean sheets in amongst that. Curiously enough, they are both FA cup semi finalists.

We are on a run of 3 wins. It is 40 months since we last achieved that, I read. Still not safe but having 9 teams below us is a nice safety net.

It also occurred to me with Wigan, is that should they go up, Maynard will have been promoted 3 years running with 3 different teams.

good old Maynard, no doubt will be sold the following year.

Amazing what a few wins can do. It won't happen but even we could reach play offs. Realistically though we should be thinking of a top half and maybe a top 10 finish. Would be remarkable considering the first 6 months!

I had a cheeky bet on Wigan to get promoted a month or so ago. I am very happy with that bet.

Mind you I did bet Coventry would finish in the top 6. I can throw that one away.
