Following the news of Roger Espinozaâs imminent arrival The 18-year-old becomes the second confirmed signing of the January transfer window as manager Roberto Martinez makes an early start on strengthening his squad for the second-half of the campaign,. Henriquez could make his debut against Bournemouth this Saturday as he is eligible to play in the FA Cup. He will take the Number 11 shirt. Martinez said: âWeâre really excited about Angelo because he is a very young man with a huge potential; heâs a goal-scorer with clever movement inside the box and has had a very successful time with his former club Universidad. âWe hope to have a good partnership in terms of allowing Angelo to develop as a footballer and learn of the demands of the English game, because I feel he can bring us something different in the forward line. âIâm sure the fans will give him a great welcome on Saturday and it will provide him with the perfect opportunity to begin his experiences on the pitch in English football which is very exciting.â Henriquez said: âThis is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am really excited after the manager has given this chance for me to prove myself. Now I need to work to try and earn my place in the team.â Henrique joined Sir Alex Fergusonâs side in the summer from Chilean side Universidad de Chile, with whom he came through the youth ranks and helped to win last seasonâs Apertura, the nationâs top division. He arrives at the DW Stadium at an exciting point in his career, having only just made his senior international debut last month against Serbia, scoring in the same match that also featured new Latics team-mate Jean Beausejour. http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/news/article/13-01-02-henriquez-move-confirmed-572241.aspx Good luck to him, and hopefully he scores against our rivals to help us win the title.
A good move for Angelo and United, gives his a chance to get some regualr game time in the Premiership which he can't get with United at the moment. Hopefully he will show why we bought him though even after this season he may still be a year or two away from our first team.
seemed to work ok for Cleverley down at Wigan, lets hope that Angelo gets some decent play time but anything will be better than sitting in the reserves, lets just hope this loan works unlike Macheda last year... Likewise it'd be nice for Powell to go somewhere to get some game time, been a few rumors of a loan about, but i think it would be good for him to have a good half a season playing again, provided he is played in midfield, just to help his development along some more.
I will actually be interested to see how he gets on today. Congratulations on not starting a new thread for this news
