    Wigan Away.

After Stoke at home on the 10th, we visit Wigan away on St.Pat's day! I hope we'll wear our black and white stripes as the old maroon tops don't seem to be very lucky for us.

I remember hearing about Wigan pier as a youngster, I think it might have been the butt of some jokes but can't remember the exact words used. I've been to Wigan many times and chatted with the locals who've all been friendly but never got to ask them how far the Pier was away from the ground and how long it would take to get there.

Have any of you been? Is it worth a trip to kill a few minutes or will it be a wasted journey? I imagine it'll be more of a summer kind of place and not too popular in this weather. I'd still like to pop down for a few minutes to be able to say I'd seen one of the *famous* landmarks.

It's on the way from the ground to the train station back in the town centre mate, just follow the Wigan fans. You'd have to walk out the away end, turn left and walk around to behind the goals on the opposite side. When there just head straight down toward the town past the shops on the retail park and keep going straight you can't miss it.

A weekend in Blackpool and a train ride from there to Wigan on match day gives you that knowledge :D we're there in April and another weekend is booked.

I'll be travelling on the supporters coach and although we have plenty of time to spare before the game we always leave straight after the game. Was just thinking of paying a quick visit while I was there this time. Think I'll just jump into a taxi and take a pic or two as a souvenir.

    Thanks anyway.

I'd rather we play in skins than risk the unlucky red tops. Must be a Mackem Dark Side of the Force curse.

Even wear those yucky lime green ones ahead of the cursed 'red' (or maroon, or whatever crap you call those tops).

Don't care for the lime green either, we could do with a new strip designer.

The only away kit I'll wear is the orange one. Saw it at a pre season friendly and thought I'd get one straight away. Cabaye stood out in that game so I got 'Cabaye 4' on it.

Next year's change kit should be the French national kit, so our lads know who to pass to when not in the familiar black & white stripes.

Might clash with the blue and white of Wigan.

Hopefully, if there is one team I would like to see go down, it's the Vile.

We've still got City away, not a game I'd look forward to.

I would say that apart from that, all our remaining games are winnable, despite some tricky fixtures.

Not saying we will win them, but they are 'winnable'. For City away it's best to assume we'll get nowt and if we do come away with something then it's a bonus.

Wigan on St.Pat's day, the 17th and our next game after that is City on the 30th.

As things stand at the moment that is.

Lets face it Obi, some of our winnable games, well they don't always happen do they? As for Wigan, they're often our 'Bogey' team, and look at Man Utd., we certainly gave them a run for their money.

I know, one thing for sure is we don't do 'predictable'. We must beat Wigan some time.
