Wigan Athletic have reportedly at last agree a £4 million fee to bring goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi back to the DW Stadium on a permanent deal.

The Omani keeper put in a string of impressive displays while on loan from Bolton Wanderers last season and the Latics have been keen to secure his services for the forthcoming season.

He was the club's Player of the Year after dislodging Chris Kirkland from between the Wigan sticks early last season.

The permanent move had stalled as the two clubs failed to agree a fee. Bolton had rejected three previous bids from Wigan, but their asking price of £4 million has now been met.

Trotters boss Owen Coyle said: "We could easily have kept him but I have to be fair to Ali.

"It is good business. If that is concluded, we will wish him well. He did well at Wigan last year and they have tried to secure his services."

Al Habsi move to the Reebok Stadium in January 2006, but made just 18 appearances as he played understudy to the dependable Jussi Jaaskelainen.
