we all know that we need to sign 2 or 3 strikers before the season kicks off, but im also worried that it doesnt matter how good the new strikers are, if we dont sign 1 or 2 wingers, we are going to struggle for goals as we have no width.

i would be more than happy with sinclair, Nathan Dyer (swansea signing alot of players so may be worth a cheeky bid) Pilkington (same as Dyer) or maybe even Mcgeady as he's looking to return to the UK

It's a weird one. Pardew believes in wingers, the tactic he's trying to deploy doesn't actually use them. Hence the debacle vs Rio Ave, when neither Marv nor Jonas really understood what was needed. In our 4-3-3, you can't "get to the byline" because by doing so you just end up removing an attacker from a position where they could score, making it easier to mark.

As it stands, we could have Bale one side and Ronaldo the other, but if it's Shola in the middle and Pardew calling the shots, we'll still get turned over by Cardiff.

Surley Gouffran and HBA are our first choice wide men? i.e. we do have width?

Be nice to get someone to replace Jonas. A proper winger with pace, able to beat his man and put in a good cross occasionally. All the things Jonas seems incapable of doing.

I wouldn't mind a new wide man, but not before a couple of forwards and possible replacement for Cabaye if it comes to that.
So yes, but at the expense of where we really need strengthening.

I don't get it with Sinclair though, he's been around the block a few times on loan. Finally found a club at Swansea, had a good season in the championship followed by a half decent first season in the PL. Gets too big for his boots at Swansea and refuses new contract offer and off to Man City where he is an abject failure. Swansea fans had no time for him and seem pleased that he went off on his way rather than the likes of Dyer (I would have him without a second thought}.

wouldn't mind this starting 11 for Man City game, play on the counter
    Krul
    Debuchy Colo Yanga Santon
    Cabaye Sissoko
    (new winger) Gouff
    HBA
    Gomis

can't see it happening though as Jonas will be in the XI unless injured in pre season

Not to mention the likelihood that we still wont have signed any new players so Gomis and New Winger won't be available to us.

Jonas lining up against Man C doesn't worry me at all. Probably the sort of game where he might actually be useful. Its the games where we should have a greater chance of actually getting something if we create when he worries me.
