Just seen on FB from SAFC official - he's back and available for the Norwich game! Thank **** for that - well if he plays!!
Striker available for Norwich clash. Striker Connor Wickham has returned from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday. The England under-21 international joined the Yorkshire club in early February and scored one goal in four starts plus a further two substitute appearances. Wickham, who has scored once in nine games for Sunderland this season, is available for Sunday’s home game against Norwich. http://www.safc.com/news/team-news/2013/march/wickham-back-on-wearside
The lad is not ready in my opinion and who are we to question MON who sees him everyday at training and lets face it he hasn't produced when he was on the pitch for us because he wasnt ready and should have been on loan much much sooner. He wont be in the starting line up Sunday but I suppose it gives us some options from the bench. There is a clammer to get him back because he scored 1 goal in 4 or 5 games for Sheff Wed? If MON threw him in and we lost against Norwich then we would all be on his back, i know hes not covered himself in glory recently but I really feel for the guy at the minute.
Alex Ferguson said he was the best player we had and made a massive difference against Utd earlier this season - we don't necessarily care if he scores - if he plays and causes problems for their defence I'll be happy. We have 2 strikers at the club (without him) in Graham and Fletcher - neither of which are particularly quick - he gives a different dimension to play
Agreed he gives us a different dimension but he isnt any quicker than Fletcher, Stone Henge is quicker than Danny Graham. He wont be the saviour a few people are predicting though just another option at the minute although I would prefer to see Fletch and Wickham instead of Graham. Regardless who it is they need some service!
No, it's because we didn't have any attacking options on the bench against QPR and because the majority of fans see him as a talent being wasted by not being giving a proper chance.
Wickham has changed a couple of games single handedly when he's came on. DG has done nowt apart from miss a sitter.
He's committed and plays with passion - that's the sort of player we need right now even if we win ugly
No, the OP inserted an apostrophe before the letter "s". Henceforth, that would tell most people that it means "Wickham is back."
