when he came on today, he was really lazy. didnt want to run, move, challenge. I know it was only 10 minutes but if i got put on for 10 minutes for my debut in the premier league in a derby, id want to work my bollocks off and show some passion and commmitment, and get myself involved, surely?

might/hope its just a one off for the lad

He was on a hiding to nothing mate coming on when he did. Bruce said he wanted to break him in gently so what does he do? Puts the kid on with 10 minutes to go in the local derby when we've resorted to hoofball and the crowd have seen enough!

Bruce should have made at least one change at half time and then if things hadn't changed given his final subs a decent 20-25 minute run out. Im not a Bruce out person but certainly his clock is ticking and his tactics at times baffle me.

Awful decision by Bruce. He's an 18 year old lad fresh from the Championship with a huge price tag on his head. The LAST thing you do is chuck him on in front of 40,000 Sunderland fans desperate for a win when you're 0-1 down with 10 minutes left. I honestly can't think of a more pressuring situation which could crush a lads confidence than that.

Why thank you for your postive thoughts, why don't you stay on your own board. The lad Wickham will come good.

Why are we not playing Vaughan in place of Elmo? Why did we not push to get Onuoha on another loan deal? Why do we still play Richardson AT ALL!?

    - Bruce baffles a lot of us a lot of the time ...

Completely the wrong environment to give him his debut.

You may just be the happiest person I've ever seen post on this forum. I don't think I've ever read a post that has had a good thing to say about any of our players. If a party needs clearing out, I'm going to give you a call if I may. I bet you could kill a party like no one else.

He played crap when he did come on but, as said wrong game and time to come on so give the lad a break. How about having a pop at Gyan who did nothing all day and should have been subbed at half time at least.

The thing that worried me was how lightweight he looked, I was led to believe he was a skillfull battering ram. He was pushed off the ball far too easily. However ya can't judge anyone on 10 minutes which is why its an ideal time to throw him in against Brighton. Unfortunately with Ji I get the "he's a trier" feeling. People will disagree but Carlton Cole and Freddie Piquionne would be better options for us at the minute. Even Cameron Jerome would be.

I have a feeling (and i am probably totally wrong) that we may get the 2 from Wigan, Maynor Figueroa and Hugo Rodallega, but if we do, I wont be too dissapointed as they are what we need.

I wouldn't mind rodellega but I think wed have to pay upwards of 10m for him. I wouldn't touch figueroa with a barge pole he is truly awful, if you think richardsons bad he's not a patch on fig. He tries to assassinate fans with stray passes and crosses. Don't think we can get crouch or pav but id have any of c.cole, piquionne or cameron jerome.

Im going to say something POSITIVE for a change! Whickam will be a fantastic player for us...to judge the lad on a ten minute cameo appearance is nothing short of a joke!...
