    Ipswich fan here.

What have you made of Wickham so far in pre season ?

I see he's been given the number 10 shirt - Could him and Gyan be a potent strike-force?

Well, i haven't seen him play personally, but from what i hear he's done okay, and not looked out of place at all.

Great that he got a (very well taken) goal against Kilmarnock, and supposedly some of his link up play with Sessegnon was very good on the German tour.

I think we all juts wanna be careful not to expect too much too soon, but i think the lads gonna be a great buy, i've been following him on Twitter, he seems very confident and level headed, and getting one of the 'big' numbers will surely help his confidence even more.

Ask us in 3 months, and good luck next season ;)

In the limited time he has been here I have been very impressed with the young lad. However, I don't think he will be an immediate first choice striker, and will be probably have to settle for substitute appearances for the best part of this season. That's unless he makes it impossible for the manager to do so...

Hopefully in three months Wickham's progress will regularly be on the back pages!!!

I think long term, the fact he's a left footer is going to be of massive benefit, we may well see him used on the wing and cutting inside, bearing in mind his 9 in 20 games run there for Ipswich last season.

His trial by fire will come when we go 4-3-3 against the Mags with Wickham - Gyan - Sess upfront ready to tear them a new areshole! <laugh>

On a serious note, I agree with the comments saying initially he'll have to make do with sub appearances but from what I've seen and read he seems the real deal. Bruce especially has been signing his praises saying his off the ball movement is excellent and he'll have a knack of being in the right place at the right time.
