Hope the boy gets his chance with a run of games. Far far far superior to Graham.

If PDC wants attacking foootball Sess behind Fletch & Wickham would do for me.

Thought he was good all game lads and but, for a slightly fortunate piece of keeping by Loris (rather say that than say good keeping) he would have had his goal then who knows.
Definitely one to keep for next season as I reckon Fletchers ankles are a bit brittler and maybe suss to injuries, having said that I thought DG was okay today nowt special but, just okay.

He's got real promise. I know that's been said since we signed him and I hope he comes good. I wonder if in some ways our set up and lack of quality on the playing side has hindered him?

When big clubs have bought promising kids they are training with top players everyday. Even in the reserves. Look at Bale, he didn't set the world alight immediately at Spurs but has developed immensely from playing and training with some quality players.

Nick Powell at United, Walcott, the Ox and Ramsey at Arsenal could all be introduced slowly. Any of them would probably have stalled progress wise with us!

Im going to go against the grain here, but I personally thought he was poor for most of the game today.

Needs to use his strength more and learn to control the ball when it's played up to him

Im on your grain. He did ok on a few occasions bringing the ball down and knocking it on. Kenwyne Jones used to get slaughtered off fans for putting in better performances than that.

The young lad will come good under PDC as Paulo will bring him on to the next level. He has a future with us,which is more than can be said about a lot of our current squad.Bardsley,Bramble,Kilgallon,Vaughan and others are on their bikes!!

Wickham was immense today, he worked his socks off. His movement was superb and he looked busy all game.

    We need to keep him.

He was not immense, he was OK. He did a few things well but still gets knocked off the ball too easily. That will improve, he will improve but he was OK today.

My opinion is he was immense today considering the service we gave him.

I thought he failed drastically to hold the ball up, only once looked a goal threat and didn't work particularly hard. To say he was top notch or immense is miles wide of the mark in my opinion. Not good enough or bothered enough.

Take it you didn't watch the game?

He never stopped grafting all game, like when he dispossed the Tottenham player on the half way line.

Agree! He looked sluggish/lazy at times something KJ used to get slaughtered for. Maybe with more game time he will improve but tbh he has only ever impressed me the once and that was against Norwich when he mixed it up a bit with the centre halfs apart from that nothing he has shown has made me feel he has all this potential a lot of the pundits preach on about?

    I agree.
I have still yet to see this player we forked out a fortune for.
What I did see was a lot more mobility from him, has PDC's new regime started to build up his stamina.

For a big lad he is far too easily out muscled, FFS son get into the defenders even if you give the odd free kick away, let the defenders know you are there. Bloody Shearer made his career on being a ****!

Graham put a hell of a ball in for him, that the keeper blocked, but his shot was hit at just the right height for the keeper to get something on it. But once again our balls to the forwards were few and far between so not going to hammer him for it.

He quite clearly has a long way to go before he is the finished article, which is so aggravating, as I said at the time of his purchase we shouldn't be buying "prospects" as we needed a proven striker.
SAFC has a long way to go before we can afford to carry players.
The top teams can do it as they have quality first team players.
