Sunderland have announced that further investigations have shown that Connor Wickham has not suffered any serious damage to his knee.

The player has embarked on a rehabilitation programme as he recovers from the injury.

Wickham left the field at Old Trafford after just 90 seconds on Saturday and underwent scans on Monday.

Good news, I wonder if he will make the Fulham game, what a boost that would be.

Agreed. But would not want him to come back too early and get a worse injury.

Why do they say not as serious as 1st thought, but not give us an estimate of how long he will be out? I presume a few weeks, and he will miss at least the Fulham game if not Wigan as well.

Great news. I would still ease him back though and give Ji his opportunity

It still doesn't say how long he is expected to be out of action.

I fully expect him to be fit for the Wigan game personally but would rule him out of the Fulham game just yet.
