Hi, I was hoping someone could help me out here.

I noticed that Senna pulled the fastest lap yesterday at 1:53 in lap 43(?) but in qualifying, Button got 1:47.

I know that the cars start full of fuel but lose the extra weight during the race but 6 seconds?

Is there a reason for this?

All about tyres, you can do really fast laps, i.e. Buttons 1:47, but you'll only do a few of them before the tyres are completely destroyed.

Plus Senna's best in quali was 1m50s (I think)

I would also say DRS is a big factor, particularly at Spa. During Quali drivers are free to use it whenever they want, during the race it can only be used in the DRS zone.

Plus Senna did that lap time on the Hard tyres not the Medium which would have been used in Qualifying..
