Why was the death of Dennis Ritchie not given the same media attention in the media as the death of Steve Jobs? Don't get me wrong Steve Jobs was very important to computing and technology but so was Dennis Ritchie, maybe even more so. They died in the same month and year and yet Steve Jobs gets all the attention. Surely the man who created the C programming language and co created UNIX should be given the same attention??? please log in to view this image
Perhaps it is because 1 looks like the older version of George Clooney & the other looks like an older version of Ricky Gervais ?
To be fair, if Dennis Ritchie hadn't invented C someone else would have invented it or something very like it. Also, C wasn't even the first high level programming language invented, it did however become the most popular and widely used for a time before C++ arrived. So, in summation, Steve Jobs was a cock.
Jeremy Paxman was looking for someone to go on the Newsnight "Steve Jobs Special"...I think I may have found the very man!
Java is alright. Has it's uses. But again, pcode based languages like it had been tried before, it wasn't new, although they had a lot of success with it.
Absolutely. Which is why Dennis Ritichie has his place in computing history but won't ever be lauded to the levels of arseholes like Jobs who was nothing more than a jumped up salesman. Blame it on the iFaggots who cream themselves over everything and anything Apple.
