Why wont your club just accept their losses and give us Carroll?

If we were to offer 15m, waving away the sell on clause you'll actually get 15m, why wouldn't you just accept?

Rodgers has came out and said he wants shot of Carroll, Liverpool have told him he can't stay, but your holding on for a bigger deal?

The only bigger deal you'll get is from West Ham, who Carroll quite clearly stated he has no intention of joining, and would prefer to join Newcastle.

15m to spend on someone like Walcott wouldn't be such a bad move, would it? Your owner was still backing you with cash before you sold anyone, so technically, the only one who's lost anything is the owner, and he's still backing you with cash, so whats the problem?

15m is more than you'll get from anyone but West Ham, who he doesn't want to play for.

Do you want to be stuck with Carroll for another season?

I think it depends on who we could get as replacement. I would take £15m-£20m personally.

Think most Liverpool fans would rather he stay then sell him cheap ESP to Newcastle.
I would be happy if he stayed for another season. Don't think we have seen anything like his best form and he gives us different options

I for one rate Carroll and I don't want him to leave, but if the club doesn't want him it's best for all parties if he moved on.

15m is a very good offer if you put aside the 35m price tag on his head. And I agree that we'd rather get a player in that BR wants and thinks can improve us rather than Carroll staying and being our third choice striker, I just think the whole situation has been handed poorly but if he doesn't fit what BR is trying to achieve he has to be moved on unfortunately. And if he does I wish him all the best.

Why don't you just stump up the cash that West Ham are offering if you want him that badly?

Why don't you just pay us 25mill and be happy that you made 10mill profit from effectively loaning him out to us for 18 months?

15mill is a joke of an offer and willl never be accepted.

  9. The sell-on clause only applies to profit. If Newcastle insist then we can keep it in. What is the sell-on clause percentage? The profit would be minus £20m so if the percentage is 10% the magpies would have to give us another £2m, bonus <ok>

I agree with most in that if we have a replacement then we should accept a bid of lets say 17 million.

Personally I want Carroll to stay. He could be our Mario Gomez given the chance.

    serious question back to tash....

why on earth do you want him back given the forward line you now have?

If you really really want him then bid more moeny, simple.. we don't really need to sell it seems or he'd be gone. Rodgers never fancied him and amde him a back up day one he was hired having not even met the guy. you won't get him on the cheap though so bid properly <laugh>

I don't get this stance on Carrol at all. The lad proved at the back end of last year that he has something to offer. All this "he doesn't fit into Brendans style" stuff is baffling to, isn't Danny Graham a similar player, he did alright for the swans under BR last season.

I honestly beleive that if the chances that fell to Suarez vs West Brom had fallen to Carrol we'd have nicked a couple of goals.

Granted, we should never have paid £35 mil for him, but we did, so we should make the most of him. If we take £15m what are we oging to replace him with? Probably someone a lot older. It fustrates me that the lad isn't given a fair chance. Even under Kenny he was never certain of a decent run in the starting XI, which is **** for a strikers confidence. He has shown committment and dedication so far, the fans are behind him, just wish we'd give him a chance.

rodgers decided before ever seeing him in the flesh.. must have seen enough watching form the swans bench... i'd agree on two of those chances being ideal for andy v west brom but equally i've seen him very inaccurate in front of goal too.

BR seems absolutely decided he wants rid, which in my eyes must indicate he has something big lined up if he can get shot of Carroll.......Maybe the stuff about Llorente is true and BR is desperate to get rid of Carroll to finalise that deal...Maybe? (probably not, but maybe.)

I would have to agree, this quote of "we can't have 35m players as third choice" makes no sense because we have already paid that fee. Becoming more and more plain to see he has a striker lined up but must raise cash to get him. ****ing better not get rid of Carroll and bring in Dempsey though

lol, regardless of whether you want him to stay or not, BR and your club want him to go, so keeping him would be pretty silly. Why would he bother trying anymore, playing for a club and a manager that told him he's not wanted there?

In terms of his transfer it matters not a jot. If Newcastle want him then cough up - if not go away. The ball's in Newcastle's court. Play silly beggers and you don't get him.

  19. Nobody has said they don't want him, he is clearly not first choice though if that is what you mean?

The club could do with the money but if he stays then he stays. As Dave rightly says, cough up or **** off <ok>

Carroll gets a superb reception from the Liverpool fans, quite clearly the fact he is so determined to stay and fight for his future is turning him into some sort of cult hero! Fans like to see players fight for their future so I hope Rodgers will give Carroll a chance if he stays, as even he was used as an impact sub or to change a game, he can still grab goals and win games.

I don't know why I'm warming to Carroll as a player, as being a spurs fan I want Liverpool to fall flat on their face but Carroll deserves a chance.
