Pro, cons, thoughts, etc. For me, he is much much more than a dribbler and has vision. In the video above you can see a lot of that. Even if you shut him down in terms of dribbling and space, I think he has such tremendous vision that it will still allow him to have an impact. Now...... can the other players get on his page will remain the question. Discuss....
I think if he focuses on toughening up he'll be ok, his attitude seems spot on as is his ability on the field, then again he's stronger than Juninho and he was a class act at Boro at a time when the Premier League still had a tough element to it. I think having Stevie and Lucas with him, one a leader and the other a compatriot, will do him the world of good. If he tries to much they'll knock him down a peg or two, but I can see him lighting up the division next season, and maybe even a ticket to Brazil 2014.
same again for me, maybe a few teams that will be intent to hack him bit like players did with Ronaldo and do with Messi, but he is skillfull enough hopefully he will just get on with it and let his feet do the talking.
In reply to Jenners, he already has proved that he is willing to keep on playing, Osman had to take to tries to bring him down. And at first, I would have said he won't do much, but once we got him in that no. 10 role... He's completely got my vote of confidence. He'll be great, as far as I can tell. Nothing that I've seen wrong with him, and I actually think for his small stature, he's actually pretty strong/tough.
i agree red baron, just know he will know be a target as he is identified as our play maker, cut off the supply etc, maybe it could free up Gerrard more who knows, cant man mark everyone. what i mean was he will be hacked to bits or try to any way, just hope he gets on with it and doesn't moan about decisions bit like Torres and Carroll did, looked to me like they used to sulk when not given anything, hopefully Coutinho will get on with it and let his feet do the talking. very happy we have him in the team.
He can't be found out, there's very little defenders do wrong when Coutinho splits them with an accurate pass that leads to a goal. He's just so quick at finding passes. If coutinho fades a bit this season it will be to do with him rather than the players around him. But I'm confident he will only improve and carry on where he left off
Just read their forum http://forzainterforums.com/showthread.php?5707-Philippe-Coutinho-Correia/page334&highlight=coutinho, they're so gutted
this is really all about what rodgers does... the KID could struggle over a full season with tiredness but i think myself if rodgers looks after him AND puts him where he can be an influence, not stuck wide he could be another mata. he's shown the toughness already, he's shwon the intelligence and how to play deeper in the middle to find space and make those passes. for me its all about consistency and dealing with the kicks he's going to get. Had suarez stayed then I think there is a case to be made for him going wider to allow this.
With respect to getting kicked, he looks to ma that he can take it. He seems a proper no-nonsense type of player. He gets knocked down and he gets up again. No rolling around, no whinging, no nonsense. A very good lad
We can only hope that Coutinho is going to have a good season next season. When Andrei Arshavin scored four goals at Anfield I was cursing our management for not buying him.He has just been released by Arsenal for not being good enough.Coutinho is going to get better and better we can only hope.
Coutinho is a God. His feet are like shining beacons of hope, shooting across the sky at the speed of light. No pressure lad
For all the reasons above, I agree that Phillipe should avoid second-season-slump. His game isn't about one particular aspect (pace running in behind, cute movement off the ball, dribbling, threading the needle) but instead has a wide range of technically sound tactics to rely on. If he gets caught up one way, he'll just shift to another, and unless they want to man-mark him with someone to shadow him around the field, he has the game intelligence to float away and look for a new avenue of attack.
