On Sunday, as the fan community we must back Bruce. If we as fans start getting on the back of our players, how do you think they will react? Not great. If we start to boo at half time and we are 0-0 or 1-0 down they will go into the dressing room down, deflated and not up for the second half. Confidence is a key thing, and if the fans start cheering for the lads throughout the whole game the players will do much better! We are stuck with Bruce for the time being, and I am sure Bruce feels s**t the way we are playing - remember its OK for us to choose a team on here, but we don't see how the players do in training.... So for the sake of the team, the confidence we MUST back Bruce as fans over the weekend, and the weeks to come. HOWEVER... I am fully against Bruce, he is so frustrating and I feel he is not the man for us. I will always from now on be against Bruce, but I will back the team each match, and that will also include Bruce. So I will back Bruce, but I'm also against him! So Ha'Way lads, lets shout for the players and the team on Sunday!
Confused but agree i think Yep i agree with lets stop all this negativity 4 games in and you'd think we were 6 points adrift and only two games to go. FFS ive just had my summer hols its not even xmas never mind Easter time when it is time to start worrying. Come on Short Quinn and Bruce make us proud.
Great that you are supporting the lads, but I can't understand the bit where you say that "from now on I'll always be against him"...Would that still be the case if he managed to turn this poor form around and we had a decent season?
If we beat Stoke and WBA at home and get another 'credible' draw at Norwich (thats not asking the earth is it?), Bruce will most certainly turn his season about face. 9 points from 7 games, with 2 ticks in the WIN column, will look and sound better than say another 2 defeats and a draw. There is absolutely no question that I will support the team on Saturday, as will every fan there at the game. Despite some disastrous slumps and a very, very poor start to this season, at no time have the crowd turned on the manager during games, apart from a small vocal minority that have already decided his fate. Lets get that straight right now but for that to continue, there simply has to be something in return from him as well. Bruce cannot hide behind the Gyan thing as he has been poor for several months. I have been vocal on these boards for his removal but at the game I support the team. Anything less than 2 wins out of the next 3 games and we should be rightly calling for him to go again. A defeat on Sunday and next Monday mind, will see a lot less 'support' for the manager come the WBA game. If we have failed in the next 2, the third game will be a torrid affair for the manager whether you like it or not. Its in Bruce's hands right now as the dissent on message boards has not yet transferred to the SOL in any shape or form. A half hearted boo at the end of yet another home defeat is not that bad IMO. By the WBA game however, that vocal animosity for Bruce will either be suspended indefinitely, or until beyond Christmas at least, or will be in full voice to get him removed. Thats how things are. Bubbling under the surface is a lot of discontent but its being suppressed by the majority for now. At £2m per annum, he will have to be big enough and tough enough to take whatever comes his way. Good, bad or indifferent.
CEST, you're right about the "quiet dissent", there are many who are not pleased with how a lot of things have been handled. I have some serious concerns, voiced them as well, but I haven't come down on one side or another. I think we all realise that THE important thing is for us to get behind the lads and give them the support that can spur them on. The next few games are important and let's hope for points to give everybody confidence for the season. When a club and it's supporters become disconnected, it generally spells serious trouble. KTF
