1 - When Laudrup got here , Sinclair was away at the Olympics . Huge deal here , Laudrup liked what others missed and took him under his wing & played him ahead of Sinclair when we got started.... confidence was enshrined in Wayne at this fact alone . Sinclair was just a life support system for money a this point . 2 - Laudrup likes the trickiness of Routledge because Laudrup was the same type of player 3 - As a confident Routledge started to show his brilliance from the get go , how could it be ignored .... the guy is on fire in the creative department . 4 - Laudrup considers Routledge as one of " His " because he rode the bench under Buck .. he even counts him as one of his in interviews , subtly , I've noticed it a few times when I've done the adding Lol !! 5 - I don't care as long as he keeps it going ...

Talking a lot of sense Breezy.

Sinclair has been shown up to be a very shallow individual.
Ambition is fantastic as long as it is coupled with realism (e.g. We'd all like to be rock stars but if we all went out single mindedly to achieve that goal we'd all look like ****ers).
Sinclair chose the Olympics over Swans pre season probably because he thought it would raise his profile.
First mistake, he shouldn't have disrespected the guys paying his wages who saved him from the scrap heap.
He went to Man City because he thinks he's good enough for the big time, he is not....and he is just about the only person in GB who thinks he is good enough.
He's a silly boy, especially as he didn't realise that he was very fortunate to be getting picked ahead of Wayne Routledge in the first place.
Hopefully Routledge has watched Sinclair's choices and learnt some lessons. He certainly is on fire now that he feels valued.

There's a lot to what you say Breezy. I don't think anyone could have quite expected WR to have blossomed the way he has. He's been great. He showed his blinding speed and flair against the full back for the first goal on Sat and I am pretty sure he's had a hand in most of the goals we have scored.

Nice thread Breezy, and here`s the latest bit. If he can carry on as he has done so far this season it`s a must get sorted sooner rather than later.

    http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/swanseacityfc/swansea-city-fc/2012/10/24/91466-32092020/

"And WalesOnline understands Swansea are eager to get another of Michael Laudrup’s key men tied up after opening early talks with winger Routledge about his own future.

Routledge – one of the star performers for the Swans so far this season – currently sees his contract expire at the end of next season having signed a three-year-deal when he arrived in a £1.75m move from Newcastle last year.

There were suggestions the 27-year-old could have been close to the exit over the summer, but the flier has found form to become one of the stand-out performers of this campaign.

And it is understood Routledge will be happy to commit to the club having found the consistency to match his ability after something of a journeyman career".

Good news again, so much for the dissent by players?

Good post. I think this is the reason that some players fail when they leave. They do well under certain managers but not others. Makes me wonder why Ash is so off form. Is there just a mismatch between Laudrup and Ash that means Ash doesn't play so well? All good for Routledge though, and long may he continue is great form.

Hope he signs soon, he has been amazing this season - makes you sit up when he gets a chance to run with the ball. His flick to himself in the build up to the first goal against Wigan was pure class. I remember Giggs doing something similar earlier in his career. If the fans can big him up and show appreciation to him during the matches he will truly feel like this is his home. That can only be a good thing.

IMO Ash is maybe struggling a bit under Laudrup because he has to defend without the same level of protection he enjoyed under Sousa and Rodgers, he basically has to go out and earn his corn !!

Routs is a potential star , he was very highly thought of when a youngster,it just didnt happen for him..in fact time for a Wayne Routledge thread me thinks !! :)

    Wayne for President!
I never thought he'd come quite as good as he has I admit, but he's blown me away so far this season. With Pablo and Dyer both looking good and Michu playing like an absolute demon our attack is much more exciting this season than last. Iawn!!

Ash has suffered as has been said above (mostly due to tactical weaks and maybe a difference of coaching style?) but as Ki grows into the side more he will offer better protection for the boys at the back. Losing Taylor can't have helped ash either as they've both been regulars for years together.Ash will get over this slump soon and get back to his usual standard. After years of being Mr. Dependable he almost deserves to have a dip in form forgiven.
