You have to have sympathy with Swords' position. Warnock has made similar statements in the past, and we saw some evidence of the team "having a go" against Toon, Chelsea and Man City. But we're not "having a go" and winning friends in the way Ollie's Satsumas did last time around. Ok, so they went down again. Maybe Warnock's pragmatism will mean we'll stay up - I hope so. He's a great Championship manager and I love him to bits. I just hope that the voices are wrong and he's not out of his depth in the Prem.

I disagree with this. It's one thing Warnock telling them what to do before the game and at half time and it's another thing the players actually doing that.

If, in the midst of a game, all of your passes are going wrong and you can hardly get the ball back whenever the other team are in possession, you start drifting back and become more defensive. Believe me, the players did try to attack but a lot of passes were going astray and a bit of unnecessary hoof ball was going on. The Liverpool defence won almost every header (which wouldn't have been the case if Helguson was there, believe you me).

And QPR were somewhat successful at being an attacking side for some of the game but Liverpool had some decent pressure on them.

Bloody hell. Not sure which game you watched but I saw QPR have a fair crack at a Liverpool and nearly nick a point. We were poor in the first half but much of that was due to the intensity of Liverpool's play, defending from the front and not letting us breathe. The last 25 minutes we created some decent chances and I've seen dozens of away games in the last few years where we've played far worse than that.

Fair enough mate. I didn't see it, though to be fair, a lot of this discussion has gone a bit deeper than today's game.

Watford,as soon as we got the ball we gave it straight back to them and then just sat in our own half waiting for them to attack again.Whats that all about.

The ball retention was poor which is unlike us. With the movement they've got from Suarez, Rodriguez, Kuyt and Downing it would have been suicidal to try and defend too high up the pitch from the off. When we tried to do so or got caught in possession higher up the park they carved through us.

You can mock if you want but I've schlepped up to see us play Liverpool today and I'm satisfied with what I saw overall. It was always going to be a big ask to get something and we didn't play anywhere near our best for much of the game but you can't expect that from any team. The effort was there and sometimes you have to accept that that's the bare minimum you can expect.

I'm not mocking ye mate, you're the one who said I was watching a different game! Fair play on heading up there. There's a lad over on the L'pool perspective thread who is saying the Scouse fans couldn't understand why we were sitting back when we'd attacked Chelsea and City. I can't understand it either considering COLIN said he'd attack pre-game.

It was clearly a tactical choice and the wrong one IMO.

Its the same players weve had since the debacle at fulham and Tottenham but since he removed Taarbs we have played pretty well but today he seemed resigned we were going to lose. And we did.
