I found that really interesting right down to the point where they identified Saints players with emotional intelligence. Agreewith JWP,but Lallana???

"Adam Lallana - talk about someone who wasn't impulsive and didn't make rash decisions."

That was obviously written just before he threw his toys out of the pram. Proof that the technique is not foolproof (but still agree and respect most of the article).

Also interesting to note the references to Simon Clifford and Clive Woodward too. For all his faults, Rupert was actually quite forward thinking. As other have said, it was his execution of the vision that was a little flawed (never had the budget available that we had today either). Hope I don't regret using the R word -I don't want to get sidetracked on a debate about him - again!

    Really good article

Have you noticed how Koeman gets the players to juggle small balls whilst running with and without the football. This must be a mind developing trick, necessary because footballers tend to be foot orientated.

I'm surprised we haven't made more of the fact that Koeman talked in that other interview about basically how clueless the players movement was in the first training session. Now I'm sure there's a kitt bit of humble-brag in there to an extent, but that says something about the much lauded MP though, doesn't it?

Indeed, perhaps he was looking at the legacy of Pochypoos tactics..?

I suppose being mature emotionally will also make them better people outside football...perhaps a lesson a few more people could do with.

I've used similar excercise with kids (using hands) and it's supposed to help them 'find' awareness of space and movement because the mind has indeed forgotten about ball/feet and so the game becomes different.
