Expected to see someting on official site, its on the bbc site so I take that as accurate, although I would have expected an announcement by now. I'm getting twitchy.... could it all fall through?!
O bloody hell.... someone fly the contract out to him so he can sign it on his sunbed! Actually doesn't he have some fitness/injury concerns.... maybe pending medical?!
He would have a medical if he agrees terms. He's in Mexico so will probably have a touch of Montezuma's revenge.
My understanding is... the agreement between both clubs is agreed Jay Rodriguez is in Mexico on holiday... We are waiting for him to return from holiday to go over personal terms and for him to complete a medical he comes back next week, there is no point rushing him. Let him have a well deserved break who are we to make him cut it short.
As Fran said, he's on holiday in Mexico. We've several months left until the window shuts so there's no rush! Give it time for his holiday to end, get into the ground, discuss terms and hit up a medical.

Jay Rod is on holiday, most of the players who aren't involved in Euro 2012 will be off somewhere. He needs to come back to have a medical and agree terms. Nothing strange is happening as far as I know.
Apparently we've set a deadline of tomorrow night for him to agree to sign (maybe Cortese's concerned about other clubs coming in), then I guess the actual contract will be signed when he's back from Mexico.
I think this is still far from certain, and only needs another 1 or 2 clubs to match our bid to be in the same position as us. Didn't Leicester agree a fee with Doncaster to buy Sharp, only for us to match that and ultimately get him. It's good there's been no other bids today and let's hope not over the next few days.
As Saints never let us know what is going on, how do we know about any deadline? I doubt we'd be threatening him if Nigel wants him, unless they think we 're being messed about and have another iron in the fire. My guess..he's due back Friday and someone has put two and two together.
West Ham were in for him, but have gone off the idea, and have gone over to Hooper. There are a couple of clubs in the North, not of Premiership status any longer, who are said to be interested, and Wigan might be too, if I'm remembering all this correctly, without checking. I think we're in. All young Jay he has to realise is that Hampshire is pretty much the best county to live and play football in, for a good living.
Saints never let us know what's going on but they're not the only party involved, which is why we ALWAYS know what is going on. How many of our recent signings have actually been out of the blue? Not many. Also I don't think it's a threat, I think this kind of thing is common. You put an offer on table and you expect an answer by a certain date. We can't wait forever for him to make his mind up, if he's going to say no then we need to be pursuing other options.
Thing that concerns me is that Norwich are well-known to have been after him, but won't pay the price tag. If Paul Lambert goes to Villa and wants to make a few splash signings, he could well be in for him. Anyway, anyone who goes to Villa gets what they deserve. They have a fate worse than a feeder club - they're a stepping stone club. Just a big waiting room-cum-shop window to make the step to a CL-challenging side.
I heard (can't remember where) that his representatives were meeting up with the club in the next few days to negotiate a contract, obviously that could be false and he could be back from mexico in the next few days and speak then but I will only believe he has signed when he holds up the shirt!!!!
His agent might not be on holiday and I would guess that after last summer, they are familiar with the personell at the club. They will know what Jay Rod wants and negotiations are probably well under way. The only thing will be the medical on his return, if he has decided to sign. I think these mobile telephone device things still work in Mexico????
