I think you have to be born within certain dates and he just missed out. Else he would have been there <ok>

  3. That is a good question. Were Pacheco and/or Suso in there?

    No they weren't

Suso hasnt played that much for us since Jan and I dont really know how Pacheco is getting on

Youd think if this Alberto is that promising he'd be with this squad (not getting on at him before he's signed btw just wondering) but if thats right what Jimmy says above then fair enough

If he was that promising, Barca would have taken their option on him & signed him.

Barca already have a few options in that same position - they have homegrown players so they don't need to fork a few million on a similar player. <ok>

Not quite the same, they lost Fabregas as a kid, not as a 20 yr old who they had on loan with an option to purchase.

I've never seen the lad play so I can't judge him myself, I'm just saying that you'd have thought that if he was **** hot, then they'd have snapped him up. <ok>

  11. Never seen him either, nor am I hoping / thinking he will be the next Messi but I am not ruling him out either. He is a young lad who could turn out to be ****, brilliant or somewhere inbetween. What isn't good enough for Barca doesn't necessarily meant hey are not good enough for Liverpool!

    can i translate this article.

    alberto is gash.....

thats what everyone really is saying when they ask why isn't he in this or why wasn't he signed by barca.... if i was on the wind up i might be cheeky and write something else but as i am being good this week i will say lets just see him in action to judge and trust that maybe our scouting network might know what they are at seeing we brought them in from city. He might still not work out but at least we should have a bit of a look at him. (a couple of game sis enough usually)

Barca have jack **** money and need to sell players to be able to buy the likes of Neymar to compete with Real. They haven't got the luxury of spending 7mill on another young midfield prospect. Clearly Thiago is also **** if they're getting rid. Villa's a terrible player too.

Doesn't mean Alberto's a bad player (Barca fans seem to rate him at least and prefered he'd stay if they had the money) just he's way down the pecking order (not even Fabregas regularly makes the team...) to warrant 7mill.

Coutinho was out of favour at Inter, remember, and barely gets mentioned in relation to Brazil teams - he's turned up alright.

They finished 15 points ahead of Real last season.

  17. I'd be more inclined to say Real finished 15 points behind rather than Barca 15 ahead. Real were poor.

when he said compete i think he meant compete financially?

Barca had that issue where they failed to pay wages about a year or two ago over the summer. However i also think they have huge tv revenues now so i don't think jackshit is the money they have but neymar would blow a hole in any one years budget.

Barca not taking him is no real reflection either way... we'll have to judge him on what we see... and a few glimpses is all we need... i think most people could be a scout if they put their minds to it. one or two game sis all you need to really fix a player in your mind.

Real had a poor season by their own standards and Barca were comfortably ahead well in advance of the end of the season. It doesn't make Real a bad team, far from it, it just means they underperformed (Mourinho is over rated *cough*) and Barca know they'll still have to raise their game to compete in the 16 el classico's per year and defend their title.

They spent all they had on Neymar, or did that one slip under your ******ed radar. They wanted him, no doubt about it but had to sacrifice him in order to get the Brazilian. Learn you facts.
