im sceptical, it must take alot of hitting with a shovel, i remember when i was wee my dad ran over a badger and decided to put it out its misery so he found the limping wreck of a thing and proceeded to batter it on the head with the edge of the shovel it took a good 15 attempts to stop it snarling and trying to run. and that was after it had been hit by a car.
it'd just take the shovel off you this might buy you some time as it tries to decide whether or not to eat the shovel/**** the shovel/hit you with the shovel then **** and eat you
