or is NP looking abroad? McShane is still injured so what is plan B if Chester or Hobbs are out? Sonny Bradley is inexperienced and Danny East has only played Carling Cup at RB, where is was OK but that was against L2. I'm very encouraged by Waghorn but defensive cover at RB and CB is lacking. Perhaps NP had a target but it didn't work out..
I think our brief interest in Habib Beye is a clear indication of what NP is looking for. I would expect an emergency loan coming in for a RB/CB type. As Lambo's on his annual outing to Butlins Skeggy I'll step in on his behalf......"Cough"..Kilgallon.."Cough"!
Gerrard isn't ridiculously out of the question actually. Cardiff signed coventrys ben turner just before the deadline. He played for cov week in week out so he'd want to keep playing every week and with Hudson cardiffs captain you'd imagine it's gerrards place turner would be after.
I expect us to use the loan market and hopefully get a couple of new faces in through that. We need someone with experience in defence, we saw the effect that Dawson's presence had on Chester and Hobbs against Reading but with Dudgeon likely to be back in there at some point then we need someone like Gerrard in there. Some steel in midfield would also be welcome.
Only need cover. If we can score first then our defence is good, it's just when we don't score first our midfield becomes abit too attacking and leaves the defence exposed.
what a dumb comment, firstly you can't guarantee scoring first & secondly if you're a goal down, don't you think it's probably necessary to try and attack a bit??
We didn't go for anyone on deadline day. We got in Waghorn on deadline day but we made the approach before hand. It was dependent on whether Leicester got Beckford, which they did on deadline day but again they made the approach for him before.
No but I know that pandaphobia isn't a fear of panda bears. NP made Ayala our defensive target and if we did actually go for anyone on deadline day then I reckon some of the more in-the-know like OLM would have posted about it.
You don't think AP was making constant phone calls, emails and faxes to other clubs then? Seriously, there will be loads more attempted transfers that come to nothing than just the ones that come to light.
why spend money when they can get Anthony Gerrard back in (for free next summer ? or maybe sooner) thats my guess. We have Dudg and Evans who can play there and Macca will be back in a month. As a last resort and dire emergency Adebola can play there(for his height) so why panic buy.? IN NP I TRUST.
